I wouldn't look to public figures for guidance about faith. Christians are still humans, and all the corrupting forces still apply to them. For all his shitbaggery, Jer might be a true believer - only God knows that, though. And that's why repentance and the promise of Salvation are important. Something like 1/3 to 1/2 of protestant/non-denom churches support or tolerate faggotry. We all think our own is the best, but I would avoid any left wing churches, any of them that have vapid praise music, any with women pastors; and all the non-denom retardation (we see how well that's going for Jer.) If you are drawn to the tradition and ritual, look into Eastern Orthodox; if you want to have a singular authority try Catholicism; and if you want your faith to focus on scripture find a conservative traditional protestant church. The worst choice is trying to do it on your own. All your doubts and quesitons have answers and responses because people have had the same ones for 2,000 years.
