I think that on top of the bad environment, Chris really lost the genetic lottery. I think he would have been a very big handful for even good parents. In a normal environment, he'd probably have been put away in a mental hospital long ago. It's the happiest possible outcome for him now, and also a distant second behind homeless bum.

I don't think even the weeniest ween or the whitest white knight would ever actually pay money for anything Chris has created.

That's not entirely true, honestly I've been putting some thought into this.

With a little bit of effort (lol and there lies the first problem) Chris could have made a profit off this "fresh drawing"

All he really had to do was go to a Fedex/Kinkos and make a bunch of colour copies, then autograph each one of them and sell them for $20 a pop with $5 shipping. There are more than enough weens that would jump at this. Hell, I would ever consider getting in on that, if for nothing else than to own a piece of OPL.

But this of course requires effort, gas is expensive ect.

And yeah, an Asperchu looking like ABL's profile pic would make a great plush toy.
I was thinking something more like this, but yeah, ABL's profile pic would also work (though I think the glasses really make the character).

It astonishes me. Chris must genuinely believe his art is worth that kind of money. Then I read the description and think "surely he knows by now that a figure higher than $5 is definitely a troll bid."

I agree. I would pay a modest amount for a picture from Chris, although I'd want him to put in more effort - say, drawing a small colour picture of a Sonichu character and then signing the back so everyone would get a unique little sketch. I'd have no problem paying for a piece of OPL in that manner because he would have actually DONE something in exchange for the money. A small picture, signed and dated, maybe with a personalised autograph on the back that he shipped out would be worth $15-20 imo. I don't mind paying for a little bit of Christory, but I want Chris to actually do some work for those lego dollars.

He could have buy it now auctions on ebay where the contents of the auction are one original hand drawn, signed picture of Sonichu on 3x5 cardstock or something. He could have a small number of those up for auction and pre-draw them. Artists do shit like that on DA all the time. He won't, though. Too much stress and lacking of inspiration.

I'm not sure who he told this to...but there's this elevator downtown in one of the parking garages that overlooked the strip. He said that he used to like riding it because he could overlook the mall like he was the mayor or something along those lines. He truly does live in a fantasy world.
Is it the one from the "Rollin' and Trollin' video? I want to remember that he (and the mystical man, isn't that a name like taken from the bible?) rode an elevator with "open windows" or what the fuck you call it in english. sorry. hungover.

All the proceeds are going to the Mary Lee Walsh scholarship fund for LGBT youth, racial minorities, JEWS, and pretty much anyone else Chris hates.

(Now I kinda want to do another set with Jamsta and Lolisa, Zapina, and anyone else whom I might have left out.)
I'd totally buy an Asperchu! And overpay so you can send some money to the Keurig-foundation!

I vaguely remember seeing an interview with John Cleese (of Monty Python fame) where he talked about how the character of Basil Fawlty (whom he played on Fawlty Towers, which is hilarious if you haven't seen it already) would be one of the most horrible, annoying human beings if they were to exist and you'd never want to encounter them in real life... which is exactly what makes the character so funny in the first place. I think that pretty much covers Chris.

I've never actually met Chris myself, but I've known people like him (not exactly like him; who could equal OPL? But people with poor social skills who thought they were the centre of the universe and sperged out over stupid things) and they aren't all that exciting. Hell, I knew an Otherkin/psychic vampire once, and while it was freaking hilarious to read his Deadjournal, 90% of the stuff he did in person was either mundane stupidity or too boring to mention. Sure, that 10% of the time where he was doing crazy shit was freaking hilarious. Like when he had "astral battles" in a public bathroom, or tried summoning Cthulhu in a college lunch room... using a paperback book he'd just bought at Barnes & Noble, or when he became convinced a "Gypsy" put a curse on him. But most of the time he just said stupid stuff or kept to himself.

Like so many things in his life, Chris just seems kind of sad and disappointing, especially now. He's not too bright and he doesn't seem all that adept (or interested) in socializing, especially with other men (and I use that term very loosely in Chris' case). Even if he did, I suspect all he'd want to talk about is Sonic or Pokemon or some episode of TV show I could care less about. So no, I'd think Chris would be a lot less fun in person, especially if that whole homeless stank thing is true. Would be curious to see what he wears out in public these days, if only because the clownshirts are sooo ridiculously bad. Also, wonder if he really does give people rashes...
It's true, this video I think is the closest we've got to what Chris is normally like:

Awesome work on the designs there, especially with Rosechu's well established pickle. Can we expect to see some spin off characters? Like Asperchu and Simonchu?

One thing though, Punchy needs dem asian eyes, otherwise it's not true and original to OPL's vision (which totally isn't racist)

I have no clue how you people can tell these monsters apart. I've read the comics (more than once) and mentally I think I just tune out when "Stock Character Of No Consequence #7" enters the scene and... usually does nothing.

Yeah the only member of the Chaotic Combo that's not Sonichu that you need to know is Magi-Chan, as he's the only character who's interesting (and boffing Rosechu behind Sonichu's back!).

I think it is only fair to point out that Chris originally listed the item for $100, opening bid $20. This is high, but only 2 or 3 times what most would agree would be reasonable. He jacked up the price in response to "interest".

Granted the interest was obviously fake, but this is Chris naivete falling for trolling yet again. Also, with the exception of "crease danger" is original posting was fairly reasonable, if not overly comprehensible. The rant was a response to trolling.

To me, at least, this is very different than if he had opened with a rant and a 4 digit price tag. It mostly proves that Chris is very, very trollable. My response is a mixture of pity and amusement, not resentment.

Also, if he does, for some reason, get the money, I wouldn't be outraged. It would just be another ridiculous and unexpected thing that happens in Chris' life, just more in his favour than others. As a Christorian, I don't wish him success or failure, I just enjoy seeing where things go. I also know that people rarely get what they "deserve", and see no point in being resentful every time it happens. But that's just me.

I don't think many people are resentful, because most people know it's a bullshit bid. (But, of course, there's a big minority that seem to think it could possibly be real. Just so everyone knows, it's not real, and it being real isn't really worth considering.)

Personally, I'm amazed by how far up his own ass Chris is. Chris knows there's trolls out there, bidding it up. But once he gets just a whiff of a possibility that he could get a bunch of money from this, he sticks to it. And picking out why he thinks that's possible would determine if he's being an asshole, or just being stupid.

(Also, possibly a stupid asshole.)

And you know he already spent the money on Legos because it was BASICALLY PROMISED. The only real question is who Chris will blame for this: the trolls, Ebay, Keurig, the Ruckersville Fire Department, Amazon, the Bilderberg Group, and so on....

Pure, unadulterated greed with a little bit of confirmation bias thrown in. So stupid asshole would be the correct response.

Love Quest 2. One of the most shocking (but not surprising) posts I'd ever read from Chris came from just last year:

Thursday, 21 March 2013
Once again, I am feeling distraught and lonely at McD. Damn It! I am tired of being single.

Hell, I'd send out a public make-out invite to all women in C-Ville on Facebook, if I was not wise of the damn Trolls, and other bad people.

This, of course, makes no sense whatsoever. Chris has not had one single shred of evidence that any human female is attracted to him at all. None at all. He has made repeated posts, in fact, complaining that women don't even look his way.
In fact, most women Chris got to know told him to stay away from them. And yet, he ignores all that in the above post, skips right past the courting period, and goes steeee-raight to the public making-outing!

Remember, this was 2013, well after Chris had employed singles sites, his own newsletter, gimmicks such as the Red String of Fate, and a series of signs directly advertising what he was looking for. None of these things worked, not once - which was to be expected. After all, it's not merely that Chris's methods were just as repellant and stupid as the man himself that spelled out his failure, but the fact that he had to use them.

Logic would dictate - yeah, yeah, I know, it's Ricardo - nevertheless, logic would dictate that if one has to employ all those stunts to land a single, honest date, then clearly that person does not believe in his ability to get a date based on his inherent appeal.

But see, that's where Chris stops. He doesn't think about the infeasibility of what he wants, or that he's tacitly admitting to being an unappealing failure. He just wants things, and that aspect alone means he should get them. The trolls are merely meany jokers who get in the way of the faithful.
