I still think the funniest thing is it's a non alcoholic drink collaboration app when Fatrick is a massive alcoholic. I'll leave it up to you to decide what "massive" is defining about him.

I think there’s reason to suspect he’s been forced by Niki and/or his doctor to rein it in.

Went crazy at Christmas/New Year when forced to sit alone, and that rolled on through the early months of the year until he was given an ultimatum? Uh oh…

The visible drinks from the recent Asian place could easily be ‘no or low’:

Pat is an alcoholic by this point in his life, and i will find great pleasure watching him rationalize all these “sober-curious” half measures and the inevitable relapses back into the fat “regular” gulping beer alone at the bar.

This NA mixology stuff is a fad for women and zoomers. Nobody successfully goes from multiple pints per night to “ ill have a virgin kamikaze”. For someone like Pat to get healthy it requires STOP GOING TO BARS !

He cant admit to himself that any of this is a problem, so the show will continue ! This is how you died, fatty. Enjoy.
 
So what is piggy's and Niki's goal for this app?
Some options (I'm just spitballin' here):
  1. It's meant to be monetized legitimately (e.g. with in-app purchases / business promotions).
  2. It's meant for fraud (e.g. fake transactions for money laundering / fake losses for tax evasion / fake contracts for Niki's "SEO business" / scamming "investments" from Lynne).
  3. It's meant for data harvesting, to dox the pests who sign up.
  4. It's meant for optics (defensively): To prevent people from noticing that they're unemployed layabouts.
  5. It's meant for optics (proactively): The LARP of being "in tech" and "entrepreneurs".
  6. It's meant for publicity, as a hook to get invited to podcasts/interviews/conferences so that Pat can Be Heard™.
  7. It's meant for gaining power over bartenders. ("They won't dare kick me out of their bar if they're afraid of being delisted!" *points finger at temple*)
  8. They were so enamored with the shitty pun "MockTale" that they had to do something with it.
  9. Sheer boredom.

It's several of your reasons, but I do believe they honestly expected they would be paid money for "Featured Listings."

By the way, has fat boy's Untappd account ever been found? He absolutely has one.
