Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

By the way when or if Hartman reveals who Hazel marries, will that creepy fan obsessed with Hazel from 4chan send Hartman death threats too?

Not the exact image but you get the pucture. His way of words are like Chris-chan. He has his own curse ye hame ha.
... No. Where did you even get this from?💀
Every shipper and /ss/ fan
Numerous fan fictions suggests that the reason she is abusive is that she's actually attracted to Timmy. However, because he's only ten and she's sixteen, she knows it would be, if not illegal, definitely unethical to pursue such a relationship with a young boy. Considering the explosive and controversial idea of someone who is practically an adult pursuing a relationship with someone who hasn't even reached puberty, Nickelodeon likely will never explore the possibility of such a relationship.

It was confirmed in Channel Surfers

Did these fools forget?
No

Channel Surfers heavily implies Tootie, but never outright states it. They leave it vague to where the kids could be Trixie’s as well. Most just accept it is pointing to Tootie however, it is the most obvious choice by the end.

For evidence of Trixie, her headband is worn by the female child along with Tootie’s glasses.

I have no clue who any of these characters are and my first thought at the term "Devzel" was holy shit please tell me no one is shipping anyone with Denzel Crocker.

I feel like the biggest problem with a lot of modern western cartoons and movies is that they would work far better as standalone short films but the writers don't understand that and add in fuck tons of filler. The reason why the industry hates short films is that you can't put them into theaters so they're never gonna be profitable and that's why most modern short films are made by informal studios and film school kids on youtube just posting their assignments.

Timmbo finally snaps out of his yellow fever and hooks up with the nerd girl (confirmed hottie in the live action movies btw).

I have a suspicion that both characters are inspired by real girls Butch Hartman knew while growing up. The detail mentioning Trixie Tang's mixed-race background seems somewhat unusual to highlight.
Yeah he's that bad guy from The Mask cartoon

I am pleased that there is finally renewed discussion about the Mask cartoon after it was uploaded to Tubi and has been available on MeTV Toons for some time. Notably, the show included a character involved in a stripping scene, which was used as a plot device. The female magic villain in the mask cartoon ultimately appeared to be a humorous reference to bondage.

I like the phrasing of 'likely' as if there's still room for a chance that Nickelodeon will just go full mask off and make an episode exploring Vicky wanting to jump the underaged boy. I mean, we all know that most kids networks are staffed by paedophiles, but they have to be capable of some restraint for plausible deniability.
Not sure if this accurate but
”DISCO DORK” - The big school “Disco Theme” dance is coming up!
Tootie wants Timmy to take her, but Timmy would rather ask Trixie to go.
Yet, he’s got two problems:
1. He can’t dance.
2. Trixie wouldn’t go with him if he were coated in money.
So the Godparents put Timmy through a quick disco dance program
and conjure up a killer John Travolta outfit for him! Wham! He’s suddenly
king of the dance floor!
But, since his platform shoes and cool threads make him look…
well…not like him, nobody knows it’s actually Timmy amazing everyone!
Trixie quickly falls for this mystery dancer, but, so does Vicky who has been
chaperoning the dance! Timmy now has to escape the older more
experienced clutches of Vicky and get to Trixie before the dance ends and
his wardrobe vanishes along with his dance abilities.

The fucking guy who played one of the greatest ape characters to ever grace humanity? I never read the book or whatever it's based off of, but how did he get chosen to direct this? They couldn't have gotten someone else to do it? He's better off as being the ape actor.

He adapted the Jungle Book into a film called "Mowgli" which I thought was pretty alright despite the creepy humanoid faces on the animals.

Animal Farm was in a 15-year development hell; it could be that he was strong-armed on creative choices to get the film made but Serkis has actually been defending the film upon release, even going so far as to say it's what Orwell would have wanted - erm, what?

If I were him I'd be in hiding, wait for the ridicule to pass and maybe after a few years when asked about it mutter "Yeah, it didn't exactly come out how I'd envisioned it; there were a lot of challenges during production and it was too expensive to just write off" Don't have to name anyone, don't have to go into specifics to crack any potential bridges.

Makes you wonder what his film about Gollum is going to be like - yes, he's making a LoTR film about Gollum's origins.

I feel it necessary to mention that Serkis is also a member of the UK Labour Party which may or may not be telling on his choice to mangle a book criticizing Stalinism. If you need any further clues on where his personal politics lie here he is reading Trump's tweets as Gollum:

Why did this even get made

What studio exec looked at a pitch for a shitty cgi version of Animal Farm then gave it the green light?

I hate the idea that people making reboots or so feel as though they have a say in what they feel the original director would have wanted. How the hell do you believe that they would've wanted any changes in their art? Why make these braindead decisions? Do we even know this animated adaption is what the original creator would have wanted?

Remember who the film industry is run by. I don't know enough about film finances to say it could've just been made into a tax write-off but bastardizing a film based on a book that points to the flaws in a Communist system? Hrmm.

If this is what we can expect from Serkis then my prediction for Gollum is that it will take the victimisation route like most modern Disney villain origin stories and be about a weird, ostracised River Person who is driven to throttling his bestie to death after being bullied by his peers and that he's just misunderstood - The Ring kept giving him the positive affirmation he so lacked in early life, is all.

It won't be a cautionary tale about how falling to temptation wrecks your relationships and your very being, it'll be about how one has no real control over their actions and anyone who tries to punish or stop you is the real villain and that the wider group is ultimately responsible for what you do because they didn't pre-emptively give you enough positive reinforcement in your childhood or any other excuse people reach for when they make bad decisions.

(Saving this post just in case)
