This is not a joke. Earlier tonight, Bashir fired up another Kick stream (VOD). The first portion of the stream included him talking with Vimp, a freeloader from this past season of Fishtank whom he was close to during his time on the show. She is a possibly retarded Moldovan e-girl who has been selling shit she stole from the house on eBay. They rate his outfits he wore on the show. He plans to open a discord server tomorrow. Mei also got into a minor spat with some fellow bashbabes, but that's a story for another time. He then played a retarded Syrian version of chess with his childhood friend from Damascus, Hashim. That shit was really boring though so let's get to the good part.

Later on in the stream, at around the 3:41:00 mark, Bashir starts reading passages from his father's (who has a Wikipedia page) book on Islamic Humanism, "When You're Shoved from the Right, Look to Your Left: Metaphors of Islamic Humanism (2005)". His parents are both Islamic academics, with his mother having been an adult convert born in Minnesota. His grandfather is actually a fairly notable individual in Syrian history, enough to warrant his own Wikipedia page. That isn't really important right now. What does matter is this caused the stream chat to begin engaging in theological discussions, Mei included. During these discussions, she identifies herself as a Muslim multiple times.

We'll go back in time a little bit to earlier in the stream, before the reading of his father's book. Islam was still brought up and discussed a number of times, and when referring to the prophet Muhammad, Mei adds the honorific pbuh (peace be upon him), as all Muslims are required to do when referencing the prophet. This could perhaps be interpreted as a sign of respect for Bashir's faith but later messages will reveal that she has indeed converted to Islam.

Reading it straight is going to be a slog and won't be very illuminating. It's best to start with the brief biography of Muhammad, and a contextual understanding of what was said when given what was going on in his life. Then read the surahs in the order they were said rather than how they're placed in the Quran (which is by length).

Nevertheless, it'll be a dry read in translation. Part of the emphasis on Classical Arabic as the mode of understanding is due to the aesthetic stylistics and memetic means of conveyance and memorization. After that, then read some of the briefer collections of hadith. Then you'll be a equipped with a decent understanding.

Otherwise great write up. She was fucking insufferable in the Fishtank thread this season and the mental illness really seeped out in how she viewed the show. A lot of the new posters were pretty quality, but she was always pretty off and I think it dawned on everyone more as it progressed.

Can't really see this one ending well for her, I'm sure Bashir has caught on somewhat to how insane she is, and if he hasn't making his own Discord server definitely will.

This references a Bashir interview on March 23rd where he is asked "gay son or thot daughter?" He told a long-winded parable, supposedly from some Muslim source, about a pious woman and a prostitute in the desert and God rewarding the prostitute for being kind, which was his way of answering thot daughter.

Meiwaku heard this and, already smitten by Bashir, imagined herself as the kind prostitute in the story and this cemented both her love for Bashir and her conversion to Islam. This is the best clip I could find on the FT site, it starts mid-answer.

I'll let you figure out the implications of Mei seeing herself as a prostitute. I checked the thread the day Bashir did that interview and Meiwaku did not talk about it there, she could have mentioned it in chat but we'll never know now.

I think I get why people have called her a mental tranny. Mentally unstable, identity complexes, radical shifts in physical appearance.
