Anyone who knows for certain correct me.

As far as I understand it, the general rules for people wanting to attend a hearing which is open to the public is that you can, provided you don’t attempt to video or audio record the proceedings without prior permission.

Prior permission in this case usually means that the court have allowed news people and journalists into the proceedings under a professional capacity.

Asking to record on your iPhone for the lulz is stretching it.

Recording yes (which is a normal requirement, during the leadup to a hearing in Greer v Moon Null banned people for just suggesting recordings), funsters no. Courthouse security is not going to know or care what an 'OnA forums' is or whether somebody belongs to it.

Err... They can't prohibit people from calling courthouse staff for relevant matters. That's the entire point of their job.

Ultimately this is whether or not the situation violated constitutional rights.

However I hope that Fatrick just gets awarded his legal fees and a penny.

If it wasn't clearly established law at the time the City failed to have a policy, that's clearly established law forward but Fatty doesn't get a dime.

my read on this is: it's a set-up so fatty can delay or claim clemency later: "YOUR HONOR CHILD, I AM A WITLESS IN THIS CASE, AND THEY ARE CONTACTING ME IN VIOLATION OF YOUR ORDER!"

obviously, don't poke the porker, but it would surprise me none if this was his thinking
