There was legitimately a bridge like this where I grew up, it was an old rail bridge converted for cars that somehow wasn’t owned by the local government so they wouldn’t maintain it, so locals would put down corrugated iron or literally 3/4” plywood to drive on.

His website is where he has people paying for content. So that's 7,000 people paying to watch. The real numbers he will have are going to be spread across all the platforms other platforms he uses. YouTube is where he has millions, rumble is in the 100,000s. I can't see the numbers on spotify. I like that post says his views are spread out across quite a few platforms. I don't think anyone is actually thinking tucker Carlson's website is where the millions number comes from. Just like it wouldn't be the case for any of the other people doing what he does. If they have some streaming/video platform of their own, if people use it at all it's going to be some small number of people that aren't watching their stuff through the normal platforms everyone else uses, it's not going to be anywhere close the the majority of their viewership.

And really the only people that are paying for his site are probably ones like me that wanted to see something in particular he's paywalled. I was considering paying for a month to see the one he did about Netanyahu, but I didn't end up doing it. But it's probably people that were considering the same thing I was, or are really big fans/whales.

That said, if he is saying comparing the views spread among however many platforms he's using online isn't exactly apples to apples, I feel like the comparison he is trying to make, where it's only the paid content on his site is even more of a disengenuous comparison. Realistically you would have to do the math if you were going to actually try to see what it comes out to, and probably set some arbitrary cutoff time for the views on a video, because the way people consume online content just isn't the same as cable news. I think he would likely stack up with Fox.

Also I'm sure streaming mati on tiktok wouldn't really be worth it in the long and or short run. The tiktok livestreaming segment itself is already mostly dogshit.

And most or half of the lolcow audience on tiktok aren't the type of people who watch or get info from you, your livestream, or the farms, they get their info from kiwituber niggers like smokeymcc and kiwitapes who steal from the forum and regurgitate it in the most bland, generic, milquetoast way to make a profit.

That and you'd have to deal with these kiwitube nigger fans going "cover cyraxx" or "why don't you cover nova online." And it probably would piss you off.

Way back when I was a just a wee lad, there was an old covered bridge much like this, near my granddad's old house. I hated crossing it, but sure did love fishing under it. I wonder if it's still there? Haven't been up that way in a long time.

The “bombshell” article referenced in the last episode of MATI about chimps and humans not being as similar as previously thought is a total misreading of what the study actually says and what the “1% difference” figure actually means. It does not “overturn long-held scientific beliefs". All it did was confirm what we’ve already known for decades. I'll attempt to explain what it actually means as a layman.

The study measured gap divergence. Which is basically comparing the amount of missing or extra nucleotides in separate DNA sequences. Typically, these gaps occur in less stable regions and have virtually no effect on the organism as a whole. Gap divergence is something that can vary widely even between members of the same species. In fact, this same study also found a gap divergence of 15% between two gorillas. So a difference of 12-15% between humans and chimps is not surprising, nor is it anything that we didn’t know previously. Many other studies have produced very similar results.

What’s much more important when comparing two different species (and where the 1-2% figure comes from) is “aligned divergence”, which focuses on positions that can be reliably compared. It doesn’t include this less relevant information. It looks at gradual, consistent evolutionary changes in DNA sequencing. This is how we measure the molecular clock (how long ago two species split from a common ancestor).

To add some perspective, we share more genetic commonalities with chimps than chimps do with gorillas, mice with rats, horses with donkeys, sheep with goats, or ducks with geese.

Is there an untapped market for actual good lolcow/cow adjacent coverage on tiktok...... sure, probably. However the downsides are that josh probably won't make that much money on tiktok, the fact he won't have that many viewers there either (But honestly he'll probably cut the stream a'la the neal moham style), and the fact that lots of tiktok people are either fucking stupid or liberal as hell. And as mentioned before, the "lolcow" audience on tiktok aren't the type of people who care about sektur drama, troon happenings, bossmanjack, or anything flaggot related (jeremy or chibi), the "lolcow" audience on tiktok likes to follow people like, Cyraxx: who josh hates talking about, Tophiachu: a gorlcow that I think got mentioned in the julay's last year, Nova Online: who I'm not sure has or ever will be talked about on the podcast, and other's who I'm pretty sure josh doesn't care about.
