Her main claim to fame is a truly wretched show called Girls which is one of those shows you hear TV critics gush over but never bother watching (and don't ever watch it because it's awful). The only reason it survived as long as it did is because it's on HBO where it's much easier for a show to survive than on regular TV because if enough people cite it as a reason they subscribe to HBO that'll keep it on the air even if not many people are actually watching (see Arli$$ for another example of this).

Now Girls is over she can focus all her efforts on making a full-time ass out of herself.

Lena Dunham is in the same range of Socially Awkward Ugly Girl Molly Soda falls under. They're known to look unkept, but this also plays in with the free spirited feminist aspect. Trying exceptionally hard as a feminist woman is considered empowering.

Lena's parents may have bought her way into Hollywood, but as long as she keeps doing the quirky, confident things, the pop media and publishers will continue to pay attention to her.

I've seen Lena Dunham unnecessarily referenced in so many articles. Recently, that The Fader article about Anthony Fantano; they unironically referenced Lena as if she was the embodiment of every woman on Earth and anybody who doesn't like her just hates women. This insane equivalence makes me believe Lena or her parents might be in charge of something big in pop media.

I feel bad for Lena's sister. She's been fucked up so badly, she thinks others worrying about her being molested is "heteronormativity" and says it was actually a "queer experience".

She then begins her decent into feminist madness as she blames the patriarchy for every problem in the world, recruits more batshit insane feminist men and women, stabs her soyboy male followers for being men, for some reason is also the Zodiac killer and being upset when the police doesn't believe it's her because she's a woman (this show has TERRIBLE writing) ending with her going completely bonkers, losing all her followers.
Shame on the producers for giving a child molester more work, but my god, it's the role she was born for.
A very tongue in cheek casting choice, but obviously the show-runners are making light of it, and not actually condemning the actress as Ryan Murphy/Brad Falchuk are pretty radical themselves.

I thought she sucked as Solanas. She wasn't believable to me for a minute and her accent was really off. I did get a good laugh at the "Do mothers molest their daughters?" line though, whoever wrote it must be aware.
