Yeah, but it was generally a background element meant to underscore the real theme:
"Civilization, even crumbling, war torn, radioactive civilization, even that's better than none whatsoever."
You think they are gonna follow the story to a t?You know they're, like, middle school kids in the book, right?
I honestly always took the "real" theme to be that children are little feral animals, instead of innocent little angels. Civilization is the result of adulting. Middle schoolers cannot accomplish it. Best evidence: going to middle school.
It was probably based on the shipwreck of the Batavia and the events that occurred afterwards, so I'm pretty sure it was making the point that all people, regardless of race, gender or age, are all nothing better than savage howling animals just waiting for their chance to run and hunt in joyous freedom, liberated from the unjust and stifling constraints forced apon us by the smothering, strangling fetters of 'civilisation'.
Your post needs more Nietzsche quotes.

So the women crash land on an island and instantly begin disembowling and eating each otherUnlike the other female centered gimmick films that have come out, this is the one film I do believe needs to be written by a woman. Part of what made Lord of the Flies so great is that it's written from the point of view of a group of young boys and the events that occur represent an unapologetic and honest look at how boys interact when no adults are around. I don't think a male writer will understand how fucking savage women and girls are to each other in private. They certainly won't be able to portray it honestly.

Hey, remember when a sexism controversy surrounded a movie that DIDN'T look like total shit from the very first trailer? No one wanted another lord of the flies movie, female or not. I dont see why people are getting so upset over what's bound to be a luke warm flop.
What happens on an island when you go fishing for white knights and no one shows up?
What a shallow reading. It's like reading Animal Farm and taking away a lesson about pigs secretly being evil.
