That money from this month should count towards the same goal next month, right? His patrons should be pissed they pledged for the event and since it failed Phil is just going to drop the total back to $0 and pretend the money he got this month doesn't exist.

He should make a goal where the amount is whatever he needs to reach the goal this month and then make a new goal for September. That is what anyone decent would do, but fuck those drama queens give me your parents credit card number.

Almost like it was a bad patreon goal to begin with. Almost as if maybe as a content creator he should be doing fun and engaging events regularly. It really blows my mind, every streamer has events, weekly fun days, and community driven interaction. You have to make people want to watch you. New games are not a big enough of a draw if you're a greedy, grouchy, gout infested loud mouth. I get how he can't just do it anyways, but he shot himself in the foot thinking his gravy train followers would dutifully fund the goal.

But hey, maybe I'm being too hard on Phil. He's been a successful streamer for 10 years, right? Must be doing something right. ACK ACK ACK.

Nah, I think he's not going far enough. If you don't pledge, why should you get the privilege of having nice things?
Patreon below $900: Color is disabled, streaming will only be in black and white
Patreon below $800: Video is disabled, audio-only stream.

Now open up your wallets, you drama queens, do you want color or what?!

He could learn a thing or two from LowTierGod (not fighting game wise) and disable camera until people give him enough bits. But I guess additional punishment for his viewers will only accelerate the end for him.

At least it is a good example right now how he treats his fans if they do not give him the amount of money he wants from them.

It's almost as if some kind of fraud was perpetrated in order to claim that the goal was met. But that's silly and I think Phil's explanation is solid: For two straight months mystery donors swept in the wee hours--though there is no logical reason to wait until the last minute--and made large donations that were credited to that month and then they deleted those pledges to avoid being charged for the next month--all without anyone noticing (and Patreon helpfully crediting the pledges instantly even though their support page says it can take up to 72 hours).

Nothing sketchy there.

Can't wait to listen what great explanation he comes up with, saying he hit the Patreon goal when he actually didn't. The stars have aligned once again or Vidar came to the rescue or some anonymous hero of the day. Whatever, it would include Patreon being wrong with showing the final result, when $883 equal $1025, $1125 and $1250 at the same time.

Or he could be butthurt that his fans let him down, he will tell them having 160 bucks less in his wallet is equivalent to having a gun pointed at his head. With games like Yakuza Kiwami tanking views he will make it extra-boring as a punishment. DSP will make sure that his fans will miss a lot more than they expected when they don't pay him the amount he wants.

No matter what, today will be extra salty and I cannot wait him trying to explain the situation. He will sure lash at his viewerbase.

Phil could make more money if he'd do these special streams regularly without putting them behind a Paytreon paywall, his fans would give him way more tips, but he is too stupid to realize that.

I suppose this is a good lesson in what happens when you try and hold rewards above your preexisting backers because you didn't get enough new backers.

Like that dunce is going to learn any lesson from that. He will continue with his paytreon scam shitshow because he believes there will be enough idiots out there who will pledge no matter what.

He really, really didn't think it through.
He basically shat on the people who were giving him $1000 because of the people who weren't giving him $200.

I can't wait to see the damage control on stream today.
