autism_awareness_by_celmationprince-d795i4r.jpg

This definitely makes me aware that autism exists.
Some of those I get. Clarence and Uncle Grandpa aren't really associated with autism, but they're both retarded, so, I guess we could say they have autism. But since when are Steven Universe and Hotel Transylvania(?) symbolic of autism?

(also, a couple of these are ripoffs of other fanarts)

I feel this thread needs some steam power.

Dear lord! A sonic/thomas crossover? It's a black hole of autism!

Some days ago I went to a barbecue party for parents of autistic kids and said kids themselves. They affirmed that Thomas the TE is hugely popular with autistic children. I myself may be on the spectrum (currently waiting for a professional diagnosis) - I loved trains (and in fact all sorts of machines and technology) when I was little. I actually learned to read with the first Thomas book by Reverend Awdry. I never watched the show, though - I was an all-books, no-TV kinda child :)

I used to be really autisticy as a kid. I mostly grew out of it though. When I was three I was obsessed with Thomas. And snakes. And tornados and hurricanes. Yeah, I was a weird kid.

Snakes on a train in a tornado in a hurricane. Someone send that idea in to Hollywood, we're gonna be rich.

Let's imagine for a second that Thomas and friends were real: This would be high-octane nightmare fuel! Imagine you're out in the countryside, walking about. You happen upon a railway line... You hear an engine blowing it's horn in the distance. "Why, it's nice that this rural branch line is still in operation!", you think to yourself. Shortly after, you hear the horn again, closer by this time. You step back a few meters from the rails, anticipating that the train will be roaring past soon. You see white smoke appear over the treetops and hear the characteristic "Pow! Pow! Pow!" of a steam engine. "How nice", you think, "old steam power! I wounder whether this is a special event train or whether they still use steam in regular service around here..."

And then it comes puffing towards you...

"AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

while everyone else is trapped in another world, Luna and Taylah are trapped in Millenniummon's castle, forced to breed with other Digimon to make more slaves or Millenniummon would poison and kill them. Millenniummon decided to give Luna and Taylah a break and untied them from the beds and throws them into two cells and just vanished for now, Taylah was on her hands and knees, shaking in fear "i-i want my father........." she said as a tear went down her face, she wanted DemiVeemon because she was afraid and DemiVeemon was the one she relied on the most, Luna watches Taylah through the different cell.

In case Sonic recolours aren't enough, here's a Digimon one.

The idea of an entire race of sentient self aware trains is a bit disturbing, especially since they all do the biding of one man in a sinister top hat. You just know Sir Topham hatt has tied ladies to the railroad tracks.
That, and the whole setting seems kind of fascist. I mean, you have everyone operating under a charismatic leader, institutionalized prejudice against a minority (diesel engines), fanatical devotion to working for the state, and the fact that trains that don't work hard enough get sent to the scrapyard. And it takes place on an island off the coast of Britain. Holy shit, Thomas the Tank Engine takes place during the Nazi occupation of the Channel Islands!

I liked trains when I was five, and I like trains now. I'm just not spergy about it.

I was never really into Sonic though. My first game was Adventure 2, and my most recent is Sonic '06.
