I feel like the reasoning for that had to be due to PK not knowing how proper family units interact, since she's said herself that she hates families and family stories. Also that she has biased Lily off of the mother she wished she had.
Which explains why they are on a first name basis. Lily acts more like Jupet's friend than his mother. In all their interactions, you can't tell that Lily is a parent unless you were explicitly told. PK's desire to have a "so cool super best friend" mother has bled into Lily.

The way Lily is described and portrayed, I can see why Neon is attracted to her, but what does Lily see in Neon? Is she dating Neon out of pity?

I actually don't get what Neon sees in Lily. I guess the narrative implies she's sooper smart and kind and daring but it's never clearly shown unless you count her acting like a sugar high child who wants to play constantly, lol. (Ironicly, PK was bragging about her show don't tell skills and Flora fails abysmally in that department, lol.) But yeah, all I've seen is Lily showing blatant disregard for Neon's feelings time and time again, acting like a trolly spaz despite Neon's quiet nature, and bitch and moan about how she doesn't get out enough. Aside from the theory that it's just because Neon is a fucked up masochist who likes to be abused, I struggle to find what she sees in Lily, so I'd love to hear more on this.
That said, gender neutral assignment at birth is the only headcanon I will accept, bwohohoho...

While lurking this thread, I ended up remembering that the Lily/Neon porn comic that started it all was actually a bunch of Patreon requests meant to be "a single tiny story" (NSFW link). I seem to recall her saying she was going to explain how Neon was trans while she was working on VR, but I think that was on Twitter and I don't really feel like going through and finding it right now.
Either way, I'm sure she goes on about how it's ~character development~ and "I don't plan things because it keeps me excited and interested!" but anyone going through Floraverse will probably immediately be able to pinpoint the exact moments PK loses interest in one set of characters and immediately jumps into a new story.

I find it humorous that she cuts corners by "mashing" (her word) several requests into one product. One comic for the price of however many kinksters ponied up dough. Makes me wonder how many comics/pin-ups Nymlus has sponsored all by himself.

The latest page is a really good example of how PK actually has some decent ideas, but ultimately falls short of executing them well.
I actually like the sequence of panels where Lily starts crying. Was there a reason for Lily to say "holy shit" twice, though? This page would've been effective if Lily was in stunned silence the whole time. Instead, PK can't resist adding unnecessary curse words to her comic and it makes the whole page jarring and unintentionally humorous.

I found this thread way back when the Pengo drama started, started lurking some time earlier this year before I made an account. I like laughing at the stupid shit PK does, but I used to be a huge fan of her art and it's just so disappointing seeing her fall from grace (though evidently, it's not as if she was a good person before any of this).
I...want to like Floraverse, so badly. I want it to be good. But it never will be unless PK loses her arrogance and starts to accept critique. Which is a shame because she has the work ethic and (arguably) talent to be amazing, but it ends up being oversaturated blobby figures with huge dicks and hammy dialogue.
So yeah, I'm glad for this thread, but just tell me if I'm sperging too much about it lmao

I actually like the page, but I feel like the dialogue was unnecessary. The dialogue in the first two panels is fine. From then on, the page shouldn't have had any dialogue at all. It would've made it feel more genuine. The progression of tears across 3 panels is really good. The "Holy shit. Holy shit!" is just. Stupid. Also, Neon's face in the last panel needs to be toned down. It's too comical

I tried doing a little edit of the text to something more appropriate. Even the most foul-mouthed character wouldn't drop a double "holy shit" when seeing their child's old room for the first time in ages. Fuck PK's speech bubble style.
Did we see Lily tell Neon about Jupet? It could be Neon just doesn't know everything that's going on with the little rat.

Dialogue-free version. I also tried to fix Neon's posture so she looked like slightly less of a turbocharged autist and her reaction wasn't completely overshadowing Lily's by virtue of being about a million miles over the top. This really is not about how bad we should be feeling for poor, stammering, cringing Kid Neon right now, PK, or at least it shouldn't be - and why is she cringing, anyway? She's coming off like a battered spouse. The world won't stop spinning on its axis and hurl us all into the depths of space if her reaction isn't presented as if it were the most important thing happening in every single panel she's in.
