Infected The Rick and Morty fandom and haters

Fandoms are like when you pour a beer into a glass. There's the extra-frothy, annoying foamy beer head that rises to the top, and ruins the rest of the drink, and takes forever to go away. The Rick and Morty fandom is a beer that is mostly head, a large head that is shouting "SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT" and is demanding McNugget sauce.

To be fair all fandoms are awful and filled to the brim with :autism:, but some seem to sit a little higher on the spectrum.

What I've seen so far from this one places it pretty fucking high up there.
I guess it's unusual in that mainstream comedy cartoons aimed at adults usually have pretty casual audiences, same with cartoons like Futurama who do nerdy science jokes/episodes.

At worst you'll get fans repeating catchphrases to their workmates/classmates.
As a general rule, if you say that you're smart, you're probably a bigger idiot than the people you think you're more intelligent than.
Yeah, it's the same with most things like if someone says "Haha, I'm so wacky!" or when Chris-chan says empathy is his superpower.

If you order the pot stickers at TGI Friday, they literally give you Szechuan sauce with it. It's somewhere between plum sauce and soy sauce, although what TGIF serves is probably closer to the actual thing, whereas whatever McDonald's serves is probably some fucked-up combination of ketchup and soy sauce.

It's... not really that uncommon a thing. It can probably be bought at an H Mart.

It shouldn't be too hard for a human being to get their fat ass up and do something if they really want that sauce they consider "rare" just because mcdonalds didn't want to sell it.
"B-but it has to be McDonald's sauce, because that's where it came from in the episode! It won't be the same if I make it! And I'm not old enough to use the kitchen on my own!"

Rick and Morty is the poster child of a good cartoon ruined by its vocal fandom, which is the unholy trifecta of 13yo autistic kids screaming catchphrases and rioting for sauce, 'intellectuals' who think they are better than everyone by 'getting the show's meaning' or straight up believe they ARE (like) Rick, and incest/underage shippers (no, not even the safe search helps). My brain is not hemorrhaging enough to Venn-diagram the in-betweens.

Special mention goes to the actuallyautistic crowd on tumblr shitting themselves as Rick allegedly declared himself an autist, prompting the exceptionals to forget that the same character insisted on calling an event that would have been "lowering his IQ" as "made him re-tarded" and that he's not a prime candidate for positive representation (drug and alcohol addict, self-centered egoist, manipulator, god-complex, etc).

Super special extra mention to the one snow-flake on tumblr who insisted "allistic" people hit them up for tips on how to write Rick, and that they "wanted to drown in autistic Rick content". To the fandom's dubious saving grace, I've not yet ran into overblown autistic sperging, just some headcanons.

In short, if you want any semblance of enjoyment remaining in watching Rick and Morty, just stay the hell away from the fandom.

I was thinking about this just in the shower. For all the fans that proclaim Rick and Morty is 2deep and you just don't get it, why is it that only the dumb and clearly improvised shit catches on with fans like "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub", Pickle Rick, the Meeseeks and Mr. Poopybutthole?

You can spot the level of tard with Jerry. People who workship Rick really fuckin despite Jerry, cause Jerry is a normal man that loves his family and tries to do okay things and that's like, totally uncool

Jerry is cool gosh darnit. Cooler than Rick will ever be!! Must... kill...Rick,, arghhughhhhhgg

Edit: Really though, this whole fan base is fucking cringe.. and Rick is too.

I must be one of those autists because I dislike the show, to the point I wouldn't recommend people watch it. However, I've only seen one episode of it.

Its writing wasn't particularly good, it's life lessons are pretty simplistic, and I feel more interesting things could have been done with better writers.

It came across as boring? I don't know if that's because I have no real experience with theoretical physics and therefore I'm a mongoloid but I don't see the mass appeal of this show.

With it recently being revealed that Rick is autistic (autisrick?), the optimist in me likes to think that whoever's in charge did that on purpose to highlight how glaringly autistic the fanbase/Rick worshippers themselves are. After all, if they really believe they're an old drug addict sociopath then they have to admit that they're autistic as well.

You forgot the people who are thirsty for Rick's dick. They're pretty abundant on tumblr.

It's obvious rick was an autistic nut from the start.. from is poor social skills unless high, or drunk, to the way only he can understand his nutty inventions.. making them in ways that makes any other person scratch their head and say "lol wut". I never liked the show but people I know love it.
