So of course this took me a while to get to, but life can get in the way sometimes you know.
Anyways, sorry to keep you waiting and i'm finally going to tell you my theory for a warp drive that was inspired by a 3-d animation of a drop of water on a pond.
This is the idea that came to me; a mass bomb.
How it would work would be much different to the proposed aquebere drive in that the warp would be caused by an external apparatus.
The apparatus im proposing would have to be, as the same suggest, be able to "pulse" a large amount of mass for only a split second before having the mass dissapate, forming a large gravitational shockwave that space craft traveling directly away from the detonation could "surf" the gravitational wave.
The total speed of the craft on the wave would be dependent 2 main factors such as initial impulse of the craft (speed before catching the wave) and magnitude of the pulse, thus this method of travel is very easy to control and much more safe then the proposed wormhole method.
Due to the tendency for the blog to lag once it reaches a certain word count (heads up to the dev staff) ill keep the closing statement short.
Now just like in whatever your favorite sci fi. warp needs to be triggered when outside a planets direct gravitational influence, otherwise the shockwave could effect the planet itelf.
How exactly can mass get "pulsed", simple, by exploiting the mass of electrons, it would involve pumping up an array of ultra capacitors, squeezing the particles tightly toghether until the needed mass is attained, then switched off.
thats how you warp space with existing tech.
