Chance has been admitted to the hospital and is in critical condition. He contracted a urinary tract infection that sent his body into sepsis (the body's overwhelming and life-threatening response to an infection where your blood starts clotting internally, making your blood circulation poor and your organs fail). He was admitted for a similar infection on July 20th, this one on his leg which he received subsequent surgery for.
Now that the infection is in full force, his kidneys have failed and today he has endured three hours of dialysis. He is currently on a breathing machine because of fluid that has accumulated in his lungs. He has not eaten in a few days and has not been able to drink water to the point of doctors were considering intubation.
He is currently receiving dialysis through a pick line in his jugular.
His family is struggling financially and asking for help via GoFundMe and his poor sister by his bedside through this entire experience and keeping friends/loved ones posted about Chance's condition. I can't help but wonder how the rest of his family is coping with this. They have purchased equipment for his recovery at home and according to Robin it's all "really, really expensive." I can imagine.
