I read this thing about how hospices try to help people who are in hospice figure out attainable goals. If you've got stage 4 cancer, you don't necessarily have the strength to have a goal like writing your memoir. You're fucked on making it long enough for long-term goals to come true, especially "bucket list" type ones that require some physical endurance.

So hospice nurses try to help people who are dying figure out goals they might actually be able to reach. A lot of times they might seem really fucking dumb to someone outside the patient's life. "I want to finish my binge watch of this show" or "I want to see the good ending of this video game" can be viable goals for people who are immobile and in the end stages of their life.

So all I'm saying is, what if Chance's consistent production of new content here is his way of satisfying his life goals? "I can't die before I get 200 pages on KF! Even Julie Terryberry got more discussion than this!"

It's entirely possible that's the case. I mean think about it, the man literally ate his way to his death bed (and will probably eat that too if he isn't careful). What better way to go out than to at least make an attempt to get back to the people who "wronged him"? It's all he's got at this point.

Correct, yes. And to take the comparison even further, Mary Lee Walsh was (foolishly) trying to help Christian. While the people trying to browbeat Chance are coming off as spergs, the only real mistake they're making is trying to talk sense into the guy (To be fair, that's a pretty serious mistake when dealing with lolcows.)

It is kind of funny though that Chance's only "comedic" output in the past year or so appears to have been the result of a bunch of people telling him that he's about to die. Truly dark comedy.

The posts he’s reading are embarrassing, but honestly I’d rather be chimping out on the internet because I’m a basement-dwelling autist than because it’s one of the approximately three things I can still physically do. So I’m hesitant to agree that anybody here got properly dunked on. “Go outside and get a real hobby, losers” really just kind of loses its bite when it comes from a guy who may not so much as stand upright ever again.
