Allow me to give an educated guess as to how his playthrough of WWII's campaign will turn out.

  1. Much like his playthroughs of recent COD and Halo games, he'll try to rush past the enemies and possibly justify it as "speed running" the game.
  2. Some of his attempts to rush past the enemies will result in him getting killed over and over again, ironically making him spend more time with the game than if he had played it properly.
  3. There will be zero changes in his strategy, even in the event that his current strategy has proven to be very ineffective (see his attempt to use a Ghost to get aboard the Scarab in Halo 2 Anniversary).
  4. When faced with a seemingly difficult obstacle, he will bitch up a storm about the game and the developers until he finally manages to brute force his way through the obstacle.
  5. He will go out of his way to act as obnoxious as possible during sad or horrific scenes.
  6. During the credits, he'll insult the game, the developers, and the fans in an attempt to be a contrarian (while really appearing like a total asshole).

Not only that, in terms of games standing out, does anyone even buy CoD games anymore? The last one I bought/played was an entire decade ago, I assume its kind of run its course except for super plebs (like dsp's fans)?

He's already played it on the open beta too, so its like doubly stupid.

But no, can't play PUBG which is super popular and actually interesting/dynamic based upon what happens in each game, better to pay $60 for an AAA game, forget you paid for it, and then play a super scripted linear single player game for the 10000th time.

Don't forget the german-accented and sex jokes. Phil is 36-years-old going on 12 and can't resist sex, anal, penis, oral jokes.

In fairness, COD is extremely popular outside of boards like Reddit or Neogaf, and this one is bound to be the biggest game this year, so he'd be stupid to skip out on it. Of course, that popularity is a double-edged sword, since it means that much more popular Youtubers will be playing it as well (alongside other games like PUBG and Star Wars Battlefront II), which leaves the fatass as a very small fish in a large pond.

BSV took a shot at the end.

Piecing together what he's said from what I can recollect because as you know, he blabs too much, he's said before he's 25% Italian (although he could be lying and it could be even less) and he's also said before that he's Italian on his mother's side, which is confirmed by the sauce recipe which he said he got from his mother and her mother, hence the Burnell surname too. So more than likely its his grandmother on his mother's side that is the full blooded Italian. This isn't even counting the possibility his grandmother could be American born Italian too so a genuine person from Italy could be way up his family tree. Either way if his grandmother was born in America or not, the whole Italian thing is a massive reach. People say he's got more Polish blood than Italian.

I remember some of the pizza DSP tries it and it was like a New York or Chicago style pizza like that and he talked about how its nothing like some good old genuine Italian pizza then he started putting on a fake accent and doing the hand gesture thing when he was saying something like "Genuine Italian Pizza righta from the oven" and shit.
“Genuine Italian Pizza”? You mean the pizza that was invented in America? Pizza is as American as apple pie. Lol

(I spoke to Null briefly and got permission for this, its a trial so it it doesn't work its not the end of the world.)

I'm locking this thread for the next 24 hours or so so that people can start to use the Phil Burnell subforum (Link: https://kiwifarms.net/forums/phil-burnell-the-empire-of-dirt.86/)

I've created a thread for today's prestream here: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/dsp-stream-discussion-2nd-november-2017.36004/

Whichever way the DSP subforum goes is mainly up to you, try and make a few threads about interesting things/events and lets see how it all comes together.

If you want to discuss the idea of the subforum itself then head here: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/dsp-board-meta-thread.35727/

Some further discussion has taken place here:
https://kiwifarms.net/threads/megathread-for-the-new-dps-subforum.35986/

The future of this megathread is still up for discussion, it may be broken down into smaller sections based upon year and archived (so that it is easier to browse). We'll see how things go over the next while and how people use the subforum and then we can all come together and sing kumbaya and snort crushed potpourri to cure our ailments (gout)

I disagree with this idea. I don't think that DSP, someone who creates an absolute tonne of content every single day is the kind of cow that you can discuss effectively over individual threads without a lot of them being met with complete indifference. If we're having to close down the popular thread to try and force discussion then it's probably not a good idea.

I think he's always been more suited to having one big megathread, with maybe separate threads for big emergency situations. I don't think this sub forum is a bad idea per say, especially when there's so many people that are linked to DSP that deserve their own threads but not having a general discussion thread for Phil isn't a good idea.

Sure, can totally understand that viewpoint and I do get that the megathread is an enjoyable way to chat about Phil. This is only an experiment to see how things go with the subforum and try to best see how to use it. It's obviously impossible to make absolutely everyone happy, but there's probably a happy balance that can be struck with the megathread/subforum (mainly I don't think many of the people who frequent this thread are possibly even that aware of the subforums existence, so this 24 hour thing will give them a chance to take a look around)

The initial sort of 'request' for this came from here: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/megathread-for-the-new-dps-subforum.35986/

I'm sure if people want there is a way to keep the megathread for the majority of things, but have some separate threads for certain things like you suggested (i.e. TKOH forums, Phil's social media and major events/emergencies).

Anyone who is/isn't a fan of stopping da megathread or otherwise has some sort of feedback or suggestions please go and share your thoughts in the meta thread about these subforums here: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/dsp-board-meta-thread.35727/

I appreciate the effort you're putting in. We'll see how it goes but I think trying to encourage threads about interesting topics on DSP, while keeping a megathread of some kind is the best idea. Like you say, things like speculation threads on what Phil's big issue is, are definitely a good idea. I'm just not sure if it should be at the expense of this thread.

Ok, there's enough feedback I think via the vote to understand how people feel about da DSP kahntent. This is apparently the most viewed thread on da farms and I'm only a relative newcomer so its really important to listen to what people actually want (and locking the thread was not an attempt to stomp on people's feet, it was just trying to make sure people gave their 2 cents about da future)

Based upon this I can't see any reason to really change the megathread, though there are some improvements I think we could all work on to make it a bit easier to browse/read deep into the DSP lore.

I can see that there is a place for certain separate threads to be made about important events in Phistory, such as his current emergency, speculation about certain thing (psychology) and so on. Having said that, there's probably very little point in restricting anything from being posted on this megathread. The other threads are just a better place to discuss 'events' that get discussed over some time period (like maybe a rule of thumb will be if something gets discussed for more than 10 pages then its worthy of its own thread).

To be clear there doesn't seem to be any point in creating a thread for every day that Phil makes a new video, rather people clearly want the megathread to stay, and there is perhaps a bit of demand/need to just have a few threads about constantly discussed aspects of Phil.

For starters:
  • Improving the OP dramatically including:
    • A more detailed/thorough timeline including links to notable pages on this thread
    • A breakdown of thread pages based upon date (i.e. November 2017 = Page 1770-1780)
  • Finding out if there is a maximum post/page limit on the current forum software (I'll ask Null about this)
  • Improving creating a few more other threads in the DSP subforum
    • I don't personally think there is any demand or even need for like 1000 threads about Phil, but at least a few covering the biggest aspects of Phil would probably go a long way in improving things.
Anyway, we can continue discussion about how to improve the DSP subforum here: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/dsp-board-meta-thread.35727/unread

I'm sure as time passes there will be topics that get pointed to certain threads (i.e. talking about Phil's psychology) and that things will work themselves out.

I'm also sure there will be a bit of cross posting within reason (like "here is a extremely smart post someone made on TKOH" which could probably be posted here as well as in the TKOH forums thread). This would probably make Phil's history a bit easier to browse, while I'm sure there are some people on here who have notable page numbers from the megathread tattooed on their appendages, it'd probably be a hell of a lot easier to also have a thread about it.

Have a nice day.

Phil apparently things anything harder than putting a hungry man in the oven is impossible for one man to pull off on his own.

Also, apparently this was his longest prestream of all time and he's completely aware how long it takes.

I'm not sure he understands how much everyone hates the prestream vlog though. Even his own fans get upset.

Aannd we are back.
(thanks for taking care the thread and make it more archivable? if thats a word).
Anyone reuploaded his footage of manhunt? Or a montage? I couldnt watch it live but I heard it was really good. I cant watch it eaither on his original channel cause of reasons.

Vault Boy uploaded a concise montage of his recent ragequit of Manhunt, with bonus footage of the Shadow of War debacle to boot:

The video also reminded me that Phil only played Destiny 2 for what, two streams?
