Chris-chan Neptunia headcanon Q&A thread - I'll try to parse Chris' crazy concerning this fandom for the curious in this thread

Are the "cloakers" Silvana fought a Neptunia thing? That was the one thing in his textwall that seemed out-of-place and made me suspect outside influence.

Not that I'm aware.

Has there been ANY reason recently for Chris to pick the game up? Were they bundled or something?

Also whats the personnality of the one he bonded with?

I heard the game had a lot of pandering to the fanbase like a guy who married one of the characters(makes sense considering its targetted towards gamer NEETs) do you think something like that can happen to Chris?
And lastly, is there a reason he push people to buy/watch the anime of this? I don't think he did it for the previous "worlds" before, or even have them override his world like he just did, I'd have expected MLP to take over. I find it strange he became so fanatical about this suddenly.

So far he saw the anime. It's unknown at present whether he has the games.

The one he bonded with is '"Uzume Tennoboshi", who is the personification of the Sega Dreamcast.

Her ordinary personality is basically that of a tomboy trying to be cool, but her real personality (and the one that dominates in CPU mode) is essentially a dreamy valley girl.

I highly suspect the fact that the Neptunia series revolves around the concept of multiple dimensions appealed to Chris and made grafting it into his headcanon quite easy to do.

Not to mention the series is about vidya and boyfriend-free girls.

Most of the time.

One of the spinoffs had Noire have a psuedo love interest and not many fans were happy with it, but that's otherwise true, at least for the main characters.

Uni (the personification of the Sony PSP/Vita) has also had some psuedo love interests, so it's not entirely devoid of guys, just mostly so.

Does Chris really believe all this Neptunia stuff is really happening to him, or is he pretending he believes it's really happening?
At a certain point both options are similarly debilitating. Chris is also certainly not above falling for his own hype, left unchecked.
>aha I was merely pretending to be schizophrenic :P

Edit: Similarly debilitating isn't accurate but, if he goes around spewing his insanity everywhere, especially given his tendency to chimp out, it isn't going to matter what the origin of it was.

I'd say it leans closer to really, really hard wish fulfillment then him ACTUALLY believing it.
I really gotta liken it to the way a 3 year old deals with reality-vs-fantasy.

"THIS REALLY HAPPENED IN THE REAL WORLD". I don't think he considers reality to actually be that important. You should believe it's real because he wants you to, and if you don't it's because you're a meanie.

Hell, one of the beginning enemies in the first game is a fat manchild in a striped shirt literally named after a basement dwelling nerd in Japan ("Super Otaku"), so I'm sure Chris would have to employ a ton of cognitive dissonance to not get offended by all the references to his shit being unhealthy.
Chris's brain basically runs on cognitive dissonance, dude. He's capable of slapping a picture of his own fat, balding real self next to his stick thin kawaii self inserts and still assert they're one and the same.

From what I understand, it was a shallow and confusing universe even before Chris got there. Seems like Chris finding it was just gravity.

It's not supposed to be ultra complex in terms of design, it's basically the Console Wars anthropomorphized as a bunch of cute girls.

The real complexity comes from all the subtle game references and in-jokes that make up the world, as this is a game made for hardcore vidya game lore spergs, which I have every reason to believe Chris has entirely missed the point of since that sort of thing is likely too subtle for him to grasp.

@GethN7, Just wanted to say thanks for starting this thread. I can’t seem to find clear answers about this and I don’t think Wikia will help.
Now for some questions:
1.) What kind of game did Chris get into? Is this a actiony game or more like an interactive movie disguised as a game? Is it a difficult challenge to beat? Is it a long game with stuff like optinal quests? What is the replay value?
2.) What is this plot? Are these goddesses representing video games at war against each other or against a common enemy like pirates, because I’ve read both.
3.) Is there substance to the plot? Is the plot interesting and the dialogue witty? Or is it just action and bewbs? Or is it a bit of both?
