Which reminds me, what was the event that made his Patreon plunge below $900? I remember that the first plunge was caused by his Persona 3 ragequit, but he barely recovered to stay over $1150.
There were 2 months where after failed pledges were declined they didn't seem to get fixed - start of July & start of September. I've circled the start of June as an example of what usually happens - a drop & then a quick recovery over the next few days as people fix their failed pledges (outdated details, forgot to have enough funds etc.)
upload_2017-11-12_9-47-57.png

For people who forgot, June's goal was the Sonic playthrough which became both Adventure 1&2, this was hit just fine. However with a caveat: this was the last goal with 'only' a $1025 public target on Patreon:

July's goal was Patrons' Choice with all the no Japanese-centric, no long games provisos... where he forgot to block things that could not make him money on YouTube AND Twitch like no Nintendo games. This goal is hit with Mario Sunshine eventually winning the poll... and being shunted to January, so Spyro 1 'wins' & actually starts being played at the beginning of October.

So the tanking to sub $900 was after August's goal, the initial failure of the Halloween marathon which DSP worded so badly that he implied he'd do the marathon regardless, all $5+ patrons would get to nominate & vote on games & only if the $1125 goal was hit would they also get to vote on a costume CATEGORY.

DSP would dare claim that detractors spun his words, that he'd misspoke & never intended to do the marathon regardless & the goal was only for costume CATEGORY voting... apparently he mistyped too. Check out his chat before August 6th's prestream:

[12:36] <darksydephil> so i have an idea for this month's patreon goal
[12:36] <darksydephil> it'll be a first of sorts because even if we don't hit the goal, those who pledge will stil get something out of it
[12:36] <darksydephil> and if we DO hit the goal, then something better happens
[12:37] <darksydephil> ill talk on prestream, ive already mentioned it but i think i finally solidified the idea
By August 19th, after the goal was live on the Patreon website for a couple days, DSP realises the total actually dropped over $50 & has to react, chat again:

[12:32] <darksydephil> damn, we may not be doing a halloween event this year
[12:32] <darksydephil> we're over $200 away from the goal on patreon, a bunch of people lowered their pledges
[12:33] <darksydephil> ill have to try to motivate people
[12:33] <darksydephil> i mean its a dual goal this month, BOTH nominate/vote on the games to be played and on the costume im going to wear, you'd think that would motivate people to pledge
For whatever reason, the pledges did not recover at the start of July or September, and it's why he hasn't hit a goal since except through at most a few people throwing him $150+ in 'pity pledges' to make up the massive shortfall.

DSP isn't going to fall overnight. Even with some 'big event' that puts him at real risk, its going to be a slow burn down to the point where what hes doing on youtube/twitch/patreon won't be enough.

He will continue to lose things, he will continue to apply band aid fixes while not really doing anything to provide a suitable means to support himself and keep up the sympathy role from his cult. But the man is approaching his mid 30's, he's already admitted he knows this isn't going to last, I know this because I asked him. He says he 'wants to find other avenues", but its clear he's doing nothing to prevent or prepare for the day where this dries up.

But, it's going to be a slow grind to get him to that point, it's been clear ever since I have at least been following him, hell, you can see it everyday with his usual begging. Like most have said he's running out of things to blame, as he's crying about the same things every single day now.

Though, I will still be watching him slowly dig his own grave, maybe one day he might realize it's him, but I won't hold my breath over that.
I don't think DSP will ever change personally, he's too far gone for that in my opinion. The world could end and he'd still be crawling through the rubble begging for bits (pic related). The only thing that will end him in a sense is his fan base slowly trickling away as described here.
Its always been a slow burn and it always will be. If you check graphs and shit, yeah there are sometimes dips but there's never any big dips, its always a gradual decline. Because what it essentially is, is fans find someone better - someone who treats them nice, that they have to spend less money on to talk to, better community etc. or after the 10th time of being burned they're like "enough is enough."

DSP says shit like "Have you ever seen a mass exodus? No. Because my fans know I'm a human and I make mistakes!" No, no fan exodus' after he does something shitty, but a drop off of ten or so people. And for each shitty moment, ten fans go "That was shitty, I'm done" then a video is uploaded of the moment, another ten leave, then Phil constantly brings it up as drama and digs a hole, then another ten leave, then the next shitty moment happens etc. Its just a gradual drop off of a small amount of people done with his shit each time.

I've also noticed that ever since DSP stopped Japanese games that he's never been able to hit the patreon goal. Everyone said it would be a bad decision and it has been. He's lost that audience. They were a dedicated audience willing to pay to see their weeb games played. But DSP has a cycle where he tries to reap more money than what he's getting, only for it to screw him over and he ends up with less money than he was getting. He tries it every time and it happens every time. This time it was that not only did he want the patreon money but he wanted the tip/bit money and view money that he could get from more popular games and Japanese games don't get as many views. So in trying to exploit that by banning Japanese games, he's lost the fans of the Japanese games who were his patrons simply so he could play those games, which has left him with only $800 a month over $1250 which is a significant drop, and his goals constantly not getting hit, losing out on the tip/bit money from that.

LMAO Look at his body language when telling the audience that he never had a complaint with a woman he´s been with.

Imagine asking someone a question to find out the truth and the person looks down and to the side as quickly as possible while saying "Ehm" and "Uhh".

We believe you, Phil.

Don't know if this would be better here or in the BSV thread but just some banter from the head mod BSV himself overnight. Guy is pissed that Phil would need to change his username to sell some statues for cash and that it's the detractors fault

You know if Phil's head wasn't in his ass, he'd give them away on stream.

Like "if I get 20,000 bits today, one of you lucky donators will get this awesome Hulk statue."

Which seems to be within Twitch's terms and services, he just has to make it clear Twitch isn't sponsoring the giveaway or responsible for it.

EDIT: Shipping the things may be too much money/work for Phil, so it's probably an unlikely scenario.

Well I googled. McDonalds full time, just a fast food worker. It's around 30 hours per week. Not counting travel. They get 7.35 an hour where I am. So that's 220 a week. Someone can probably link that with Eddyb and what DSP gets.

Washington's current minimum wage is $11 an hour, due to go up to $11.50 next year. So in your scenario that would be $330 a week.

Let's be real, Phil just doesn't want to sell the statues. Any time there is something he can easily do but comes up with tons of excuses why he can't it is his way of saying "I don't want to do that." If the day ever comes he really needs the money those statues will be up on Ebay as quick as possible soon to be followed by the creation of a Vidme account and finally the return of Cooking with the King.

Arguing with BrightSideViking is a complete waste of time. He will blatantly miss the point you're making just to argue back and forth with you because its the only time he gets any attention in his miserable life. It's not that hard to understand that making a username that isn't "DarkSydePhil" will negate the trolling problem.

Vidme is coming in the next 4 to 5months. Mark my word.

wow what a depressing welfare flat

Whats even more depressing is this guy donated well over $2000.00 to Phil in Twitch alone and lives like this.

I really dont get it, I know he used to hate Phil and would troll him and then something changed in his perception of him, I feel like all those bit and tips and donations are him feeling somehow guilty about how he thought about him before. Almost like he is paying some sort of penance.

This. He completely misses the point and tries to use whatever you say or do as some form of ammunition or "proof" that you hate Phil/have something to hide.

Case in point, when he called that one guest on the SOK podcast (Nicole) a dumb bitch and then stalked her online, trying to dig up any dirt on her because she made him look exceptional. She is made aware of this, and makes her Twitter account private to avoid any further creepy shit. He then posts a picture of her account, showing that it's been made private, and comments - "Nothing to hide, eh?".

It's like he can't fathom or understand that people have different (and innocent) reasons for saying and doing things, and that it MUST be something related to hating on Phil or wanting to hide some shady shit you've got going on.

Do they beg for money from the fans they treat like shit?

Having a "rough time guys my anxiety's back" video, in your own words. Once in a blue moon. Isn't the same thing as a grown man panhandling to middle school students and a norwegian man on a daily basis.

Also most makeup personalities are young women who are easy on the eyes and don't burp and snort on screen.

His room is just as empty as his soul. Notice the lack of bed sheets and him wearing a winter hat indoors. I guess he's cutting back on using the heat so that his gout god gets to sleep in warmth

In many ways, Phil reminds me so much of those guys who suddenly win the lottery and go broke again in under 5 years.

Like, he doesn't know how to turn being rich into being wealthy. He proceeds to waste a lot of his early income on frivolous toys, fancy dinners, expensive cars and empty kahndos while saving/investing nothing into the future, he merely lives his day everyday like a chump.

Even his stance on vid.me (& Twitch initially) shows that he doesn't truly understand how he made the bulk of his money (being early to platforms before they develop algorithms to impede his money train).

He also never adapts his choice of games to the platform he's streaming for (AFAIK, Twitch viewers don't care about day 1 playthroughs, they are more into it for woah moments/funny reactions on games they already know very well) and just wants to keep doing what he's doing and hope money magically comes into his account.

Just like lightning never strikes twice in one place, Phil will never win the jackpot twice either.

Even fucking Chris-Chan figured out using alt names to sell stuff.. And that stuff is extremely traceable to him (Sonichu medallions etc.)

I don’t know how Phil continues to do this, I really don’t, he has hands down one of the most fucked lifestyles I’ve ever seen and it amazes me how his fans think that this is a good thing for him. I can’t think of one good reason why he should keep doing this for a living or why anyone would even want to be in his situation. Even with all the people who hate him It surprises me how they want to see him give up on this being a job instead of going on as I think him continuing to do this is way more pathetic if you think about it...

He has no friends, family, or actual social interaction with anyone besides his viewers on the internet where half of them are either secretly in on the joke and the other half are losers who have to be in just as pathetic of a situation since they have no one else they care about enough to give hundreds of dollars to other than some random guy who they don’t even know, I could understand 5 to 10 bucks but his regulars are way beyond that. Then on top of that this guy has to go through a mountain of hate comments every single day constantly blocking people on every social media site he uses and spends most of his time responding more to haters than actual fans. His Instagram is just sad (or hilarious if you are fucked up like me ahah) and it really exposes how little he does with his life, all this fucker does is eat and watch tv, he thinks putting on sleeves is newsworthy and the only other thing he does is go to the store to get more food, imagine some loser chuckling to himself taking pictures all over Walmart by himself.

He doesn’t even have a passion for the one thing he does that he could even be proud of since he has no hobbies outside of playing on his phone or watching tv, he has little to no variation or pride in getting better at his job yet spends all this time doing it when he really doesn’t have to, he could easily just go back home, live with his parents and slowly get his life back on track, but for some reason he persists for some 8 year legacy that he doesn’t even enjoy doing, and I would say that’s the case since he doesn’t watch other let’s players or play actual video games on his own time for fun, and that should be a red flag in his mind and his fans minds but neither of them see it.

The only thing I could say Phil does enjoy doing is spending money and feeling like he is rich, we all saw how much of a hoarder he was and how stupid he was with his money once he started making it, but because he decided to jump into youtube as a full time job when it was still being established he can’t even do that anymore, YouTube phased him out once it started becoming regulated and it amazes me how he can’t see the writing on the wall when it comes to twitch doing the same thing, he’s always going to be struggling and that’s what is hilarious to me, that this guy can’t see how this job is the worst thing for him right now and him losing it would be a huge improvement.

I for one find it hilarious that his life is this fucked and while others can’t stand how he still does this for a living and that some sad sad fans give him so much money I enjoy the irony of it all that both Phil and his biggest contributors are the reason he is so miserable.
