I don't understand closed species. Isn't part of the fun of making something new having others join in and take part of it, building onto it? Like hear me out, I get it if you make a fursona/character design and you feel like it's yours. But if you want to keep it "yours" then... don't make adoptables of it? When you promote people interpreting your art, they're going to take individual liberties with it. The whole "closed species" concept seems ass backwards. You want to keep DAD yours? That's fine, write stories, draw your characters, etc. You want others to join in? Show your designs, promote it, tell others it's okay to make their own. You can't have it both ways.

...wow, Telephone's a jerk. They're literally saying that you can't have your own backstory for your own character/persona to make theirs extra speshul. And also, damning other people's personas to hell in the process. Geez. I know it's just a fandom but since they take it so seriously, you think more people would be bothered by this.

I don't know too much about closed species. I remember them on DeviantArt (heartpuffs is the one I can name offhand) but I never involved myself (due to not really using DA and not having the money, lack of interest in someone else's species when I could make my own, etc), and certainly never thought one would have such a strong presence. Like... this is an actual thing. It's... mindboggling.
