Brianna Wu / John Walker Flynt - "Biggest Victim of Gamergate," Failed Game Developer, Failed Congressional Candidate

That's assuming he even had the insurance set up on the Porsche already. Hopefully we get some REEEE about how fucked his rates are after this totally-not-at-fault accident.

I'm not sure what I'd like more, him not having insurance on the Porsche yet, or him having some sort of super expensive high-risk insurance on the Porsche because he obviously can't drive for shit.

Both options are p good.

The lead is being buried here with all this unfair to John speculation about what really hit his car.

Look, people born in 1994 are the prime constituency of Stephen Lynch, kiwis! Lynch is essentially the only representative in Congress they've ever known their entire life so they'll do almost anything a million dollar war chest can fund outside the usual reported channels of payment, if you catch my drift. I attempted to warn Flu that Steve plays for keeps when he had his little problem at the dog park with the 'mysterious stranger' a few months back and it was only just beginning, this is now the obvious start of phase two and it won't stop unless he wises up and pipes the fuck down in time for the primary...

Reminder that FATAL is a tabletop RPG that has only ever been played once in the history of man because it's such a piece of shit, and is responsible for such things as this:

edit: fuck I just realized Wu's not the one talking about FATAL *sigh*
I'd love to hear his input on it though
I will bet any amount of money that Frank Wu unironically enjoys FATAL. That's the only possible explanation for finding John attractive.

Dude, I live in a relatively quiet, seaside town in the UK. During busy season I see armed police patrolling the street with rifles that look very much like M16's. It doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I wouldn't be surprised if only Frank had his name on it and not John.

Also, is Frank actually as stupid as John's Twitter followers? Can he actually look at that obvious backing into a stationary object dent and believe John's lies? Is John trying to pass off this bullshit to Frank, or is this just for the benefit of his Twitter morons who believe even the most blatant lies from John?

This guy has no fucking clue how hard you have to work in the last 3-4 months of a campaign as the candidate. The Wire does a really good job in season 3 showing it. Every minute of your day is literally planned out weeks in advance and most days start at 7am with a breakfast meet and greet, then you get a "break" dialing for dollars until noon or so, then you go get lunch with another group, then you get another "break" dialing for dollars or knocking on doors and then at night usually you're doing debate prep or working on messaging and strategy with your senior advisors.

It's not glamorous at all, not even at the Congressional level. It's a huge commitment and there's no guaranteed payoff. If you lose you basically just wasted the last three months working 10-12 hours days.

There certainly isn't time to jack off on twitter and go for joy rides and hanging out at the mechanics. If you tried that shit any halfway decent campaign manager would either demand you do your job as candidate or quit.

That’s no way to talk about Frank, especially since he’s paying for whatever damage your insurance won’t cover.

Sometimes I feel deeply resentful -- even A-Loggish -- of the way these two goons are able to use connections and media friendliness to attain a level of respectability and even a bit of modest celebrity despite their wretched personalities, vast stupidity, and unending grifts.

Then I remember they have to live with each other and I feel a little better.

Not that we're there yet. John started his campaign before the ink was even dry on Lynch's 2016 re-election results, and there's still almost an entire year before the next election.

Is it possible John only had liability coverage and is trying to commit insurance fraud? If he's lied to the insurance company and an adjusted takes one look at that dent, he's going to get busted. Or are these outrageous lies just for the benefit of Twitter?

I'm just trying to see what John is getting out of this dumb lie. We all know John lies even when there's no benefit from it, so he could just literally be lying for no reason at all, I suppose.

Yea he's got time but 90% of the candidates I worked with were workaholics and that's why they ran. It's self selecting. Dude's in for a rude awakening when he gets blown out in the primary next summer.

Although maybe he gets blown on on the regular if I'm reading this thread correctly.

Imagine paying for it three times and having nothing to show for it.

Daria was about a lot more than being a "strong female voice". It was about being a non-conformist in a NY suburb and the social friction between her and the conceited people she encountered.

I bet Wu would have been one of the oblivious teachers in the show.

>My favorite episode
>Describes the episode by a throwaway line joke
I recently rewatched that series and know there's no actual plot thread for that, so I can only imagine it was a line I blinked and missed. The Morgendorfers are firmly middle class and were far more concerned with WHICH college the girls (primarily Daria) got into than how much it costs. Her mother is a successful lawyer (and becomes partner after the series' conclusion by Word of God), and her father is a consulting agent that, while not rich, does come into good money with his agency from time to time.

Wu tried to make a point about college being too expensive and failed to realize the entire Daria series is about as "1st world problems" as it gets, particularly that the main character is a middle-middle class teenager whose mother alone would be netting $200k+ per year in current salaries.

"The police officer that wrote my accident report had an M-16 assault rifle in his passenger seat. I guess so."

1) This has nothing to do with 'bad' traffic and is a weird way to insert extraneous information
2) No he fucking didn't.

Wu, who sometimes claims bona fides as a 'gun grl' because he was born in the South and supposedly knows how to field strip a Glock (omg such tacticool, much operator) is- again- confusing a two entirely different classes of firearms. Patrol cops who are taking traffic crash reports are not driving around with an NFA regulated rifle (i.e. an M16) sitting there. And most likely the regular, semi-automatic rifle was locked in an upright gun-rack. I understand how someone with little or no knowledge of police or guns would make these mistakes but I have zero doubt that Wu would happily opine and bloviate about such issues despite knowing nothing.

Plus an m-16 in the cop car? ...It was a shotgun... guarantee it....

Shotguns have been falling out of favor with police departments as long arms because they don't have the capacity, fast reload or easy recoil of an AR-15. Boston, along with many if not most departments, has been equipping its patrol officers with rifles or carbines instead of shotguns- or, in some cases, in addition to shotguns- in the face of terrorist threats or active shooter situations. It's still not a fucking M-16 though (autos are sometimes used by tactical teams, but that's not this situation).

Assuming American insurance works like UK insurance, that settles it for me that this was Wu's doing.

In the UK, once the other parties insurance company contacts you everything gets handed over to them. They get the police report , they arrange for an inspection of the damage and get a quote for fixing it, because they want to keep all that shit in house.

Strangely in the UK, its actually so they can do an underhand deal to write off your barely damaged car, and sell it to the mechanic who has just said its not economic to fix, who than fixes it and sells it to someone else ker-ching! You get most of your original outlay back but get shafted for the next 4-5 years with higher insurance premiums. Its often best in fender benders to have a gentleman's agreement sorted out and fuck off before the popo arrive.

Given how high Wu's premiums are going to be already (the written off accord from 2 years ago), she might be best sucking up the repair bill herself.

Natick, MA has a mall with a Neiman Marcus and a Nordstrom. I believe back in the 90s, they had a doctor go insane and murder his wife and child, hanging the wife's lungs on a makeshift crucifix in the back yard. Other than that, I can't recall much of a ruckus in Natick.

Heisman trophy winner Doug Flutie lives (or at any rate grew up) in Natick.

And, as usual on KF, it always comes back to the :autism:, doesn't it?
