Careercow Alexander Thomas Mauer / Alex Mauer / Lexi Mauer - DMCA spamming "trans" musician of Starr Mazer DSP fame.

The clinical way Leonard conducted himself throughout the video suggests to me that a legal smackdown may be incoming on Monday.
That's just how he is, the judge still shot him down when he asked for the default after Mauer replied late, for example.

I still think the judge will be pissed at Mauer but it won't be a wrestling event, coz he knows how mentally challenged Mauer can be and it's bad manners to bully disabled people.

The default thing was Leonard looking to save the time and money for his client like a good lawyer. It was a bit of a reach, but he had to try.

Look at the way he documented every single thing Mauer did during the settlement discussions, even made sure to remind the judge of Alex's exceptional "judge your stupid haha" letter when he could have just summarized it like he did with all other communications detailed in his reply. That tells me that Leonard has had enough of this shit.

Also, remember that the judge is the one who called for this hearing on his own volition. So the judge also had enough of this shit as well.

You might remember I was somewhat critical of that and thought it unlikely to succeed. Most procedural time limits are there to make things move smoothly, not to give the other side an opportunity for gamesmanship and to jump up and yell "gotcha" and instantly win the case. It's a matter of professionalism for judges to want their decisions to be final. The vast majority of cases aren't appealed, and even the vast majority of cases that are appealed are upheld on appeal. Even the vast majority of cases that are successfully appealed get remanded back to the original judge.

Anyway, when a judge clears a case, she doesn't want it back on her docket.

Mauer has gone beyond being a dumb pro se litigant who blew a deadline or two. Now he's bringing a case back on the docket by breaking a settlement agreement before the fucking ink is dry on the settlement. I'm pretty sure he's going to be told in no uncertain terms that this fuckery needs to end immediately.

This is my feeling too. Compared to the judges i've dealt with IRL, this one has had the patience of Job up until now, but judges tend to have no sense of humor when they start to feel the authority of their court is not respected. I am going to give a short powerlevel below about this in spoilers so ignore or read at your discretion.

Many long years ago, I owned and operated a small shop in a public market. Bought it from the old owner with the understanding I would get a new lease once his old one ran out. Being 21 and naive as fuck, I didn't get it in writing. When lease ran out, I was given a GTFO letter. Long story short, sued the cunts.

When going to the initial mandatory settlement meeting, one of the execs of the market owners didn't bother to come down. The judge, who was already getting steamed by their lawyer's attitude, immediately sanctioned the guy and said that since this meeting was now a waste of my (me) time, they were going to pay me for my time and if the guy didn't show up for the next scheduled meeting with a $250 cheque for me, he was going to issue a bench warrant in contempt of court on the guy and have his ass hauled down for a stay in the clink. Needless to say at the next meeting, the dude was there and I got a check from him, and you should have seen the guys face handing it over to me, it was LOLtastic.

It turned out that a few years later that judge joined the same flying club as my father, and they talked about that court case and some other ones, and how we were glad he had been on our side and not the one pissing him off. He stated that he had actually been more generous then usual that day. He said that all his fellow judges took the approach that for anything that looked like disrespect, even in ignorance, they WILL drop the hammer on you. And if it looks like deliberate stupidity, GodBear help you.

So yeah, I think Monday morning is going to be very interesting.

Fuck, I wish I could be there to see the judge ask Alex about the aforementioned exceptional letter. In every hearing prior to this, they've always feigned respect for the judge. Now they've gone on the record calling the judge stupid for not illegally acting as their advocate. I can't decide whether I think it's more likely Alex will rage sperg or fake another panic attack when confronted on that point.

I suspect he's tone is more about cautiousness than anything else. He's presumably about as in the dark as is Mauer (and us) about what is coming Monday.

Honestly, as someone who isn't a lawyer and does his best to stay out of the court system, I'm surprised this nonsense has even gone on this long. Courts, apparently, are pussies who will let you dick them around for months and months and months until levying a slap on the wrist.

I'll keep this in mind next time I have to deal with them. If a retard like Alex can screw with them for this long without a lawyer, my cokehead lawyer and I can probably get any action delayed until long after I'm dead.

Federal Judges are an entirely different beast to your standard issue traffic magistrate or State Court judge. A part of the US Governing system that is not well known is that the Federal Constitution creates a unitary Federal Judiciary. It does not stipulate how many judges need to serve on said unitary judiciary. By the letter of the US Constitution, there only needs to be ONE Federal Judge who is the final arbiter on all things federally related. In Practice, Congress used its appointment power to create many judges, and even give them a hierarchy, with the Supreme Judges being able to overrule the judges below them. This practice is however simply practice and precedent and subject to change as needed. For the first few decades there were only 7 Supreme Judges, and later we bumped the number up to 9. Under Constitutional Law though, even a lowly District Judge has Article 3 powers, which stipulates that the judicial power of the United States shall be vested in ONE Supreme Court. All Federal Judges are granted the power of that one Supreme court. By practice and precedent, some judges are just more equal then others.

So in Federal matters, Judges tend to be very "judicial" in their application of their authority. Using it carelessly can lead to the ultimate humiliation, being overridden by a "more equal" judge. The other side of the coin though is unlike your standard Traffic court magistrate, a Federal Judge can literally bring the full power of the United States down on your head if they are so inclined. Mauer has skated by because Schiller has adhered to the "With great power comes great responsibility" clause of his mandate. I expect this Monday hearing will be to explain in no uncertain terms just what is going to happen if Mauer continues to dick with Schiller.

That could definitely happen. Another possibility is that Alex could show up, throw herself on the mercy of the court, get treated with retard gloves as in the past, then go home and jump back on twitter and continue the same bullshit all over again. Exciting!

While this indeed still possible, I feel that Alex has pushed it's luck about as far as it can go by now. I would expect at the very least the judge lay down some very strict guidelines for Alex to follow, and if these are violated in the smallest way it's hammertime.

Seems like we're reading him different. From my perspective, he was always professional sounding, but here you can kind of see him sort of pissed off but trying to hold it in.

In his previous videos on this topic, he had a more cheery atmosphere about him, and in the "we won" video, he looked visibly relieved to be done with this case. This is why I expect a smackdown is on its way, though not as explosive as people might expect. Remember that Alex is proven to have read his thread and will be trying extra hard not to chimp out.

Also, how exceptional is Alex? Calling Leonard to ask if it's ok to skip this one?

Seems to me like an exceptional way to try and get Leonard on the record giving him bad legal advice and make him look bad in the hearing LMAO.

I think part of the reason for French's timeline is to illustrate that Alex has no intention of stopping this behavior or adhering to the terms of the settlement. He'll go into court, play along, and then go back to being autistic the second he leaves the courthouse. Alex needs to have some consequences for his shitty behavior or French/Imagos is just going to be attending yet another hearing over this settled case next month.

French is formally entering everything he can into the record. It is always better to do this in writing than to attempt a verbal pleading or explanation. French’s letter of response will be fully read and all of its points heard in full both by this Judge, and by anyone who might review the case in the future. It insures that the full timeline is on record (with his spin on it.) and it’s presentation and review will not be subject to the whims or time concerns of the courtroom. And yes it indicates he is pissed. He has a signed settlement. The case is over. Yet he is still being forced to spend client money. Further the Pro Se Defendant is calling him seeking free legal advice and instruction. I think any rational person would be pissed by this point.

The case is over. It is supposed to be well outside the Judges Courtroom. The Judge certainly will be infuriated that it is back. My suspicion, although I could be wrong, is if Alex shows he’s going to get hit with a painful fine, plus an order to pay for French’s Time subsequent to the settlement being signed. Along with a rather clear and unambiguous lecture regarding how things work. If Alex doesn’t show the Judge will drop contempt charges on his ass.
