Bad Cosplay - Thots, weebs, and wannabes

She's cute, but.....

Even if it looked good, it's Minecraft....So that makes it bad.

What is she supposed to be?

A lot of cosplays posted here are actually good cosplays.
When a guy puts a cardboard on and writes "gundam" or "optimus prime" on it, it's obviously a joke.

When a hairy beardy man dresses up like a little girl, he's most likely ironic, not transgender or something.

This is different from bad cosplay where a person tries to cosplay someone geniunly but simply fails due to being ugly or putting in too little effort.

I don’t play Minecraft, but it’s pretty clear that this is just the equivalent of the “sexy Mario halloween costume”/“slutty Pacman“ of whatever the fuck she’s trying to cosplay.
If it weren’t for the bright green hair I might have mistaken it for a half-assed Attack on Titan cosplay.

I actually thought the cardboard cosplays were pretty creative, if nothing else. They were obviously joke cosplays but they were intentionally bad so that is why I put them on the list.

I love this thread. I’ve seen at least eight people I recognize IRL. The shitty Star Wars guys were shitty on purpose, were really good sports and having a great time. Sailor Drag Dude knows he’s a joke, he stops by our booth every year at SDCC and gives us stickers and junk. He originally made it for joke to share with his daughter (she’s also a really good sport), is totally straight, and the costume actually looks great. We can’t wait for him to show up. Blunder Woman is, indeed, “Mama”, a local drag performer and MC for a lot of LGBT events, is gay IRL, does drag for a camp act. Dresses normally when not “on stage”. Mrs. Chandler Cats has a long running photo series she calls Fans With Food, I’ll see if she can find some, she’s got a great one of Darth Maul eating a corn dog. You should’ve been around in the 70s when masquerade contestants usually DID turn up naked and painted some weird color with glitter everywhere. Man, we were giants in those days.

What about Toilet Paper Kakashi?

I assume it's a joke. It has to be. The headband looks like it's made out of duct tape and the mask looks like it was crafted from a trash bag. But I've also seen horrible legit cosplays like that sexy Garnet from FF9 that's a fatty in some kind of ill fitting swimsuit or bodysuit or something. She was also sporting some serious moose knuckle.

EDIT

Here we go!

She actually thought this was a good idea. This is not the pic that I originally saw. That one shows the moose knuckle more clearly. Looks like this pic is a bit more moist though.:cryblood:

That's pretty interesting. I give them props for their dedication.

Has anyone brought up the infinite Slave Leia "interpretations" yet? You can essentially just google "slave leia ____" and it will bring something up.

(Why would you bother to make offbrand sexy versions of characters from an anime that is quite literally based around the characters wearing next to nothing? Oh, right: :autism:)

Every time my friends and I go to a con, we always count how many slave leias there are. Not sure why she and Harley Quinn are so popular.

More bad cosplay I found while surfing the web.

Actually thinking about it, the cardboard Chewbacca isn't as bad as the rest. The fact that the person wrote 'Chewbacca' on the left shoulder area of the costume kind of takes it down a few notches though.

Hey, your shitty Mudkip cosplayer in an ugly bikini and unsealed bodypaint reminded me of this shitty Mudkip cosplayer in an ugly bikini and unsealed body paint!

Also, "surfing the web"? Spamming dashes instead of using spoilers? What are you, a time traveler from 1997?

That mudkip cosplay is terrifying. :')

And to answer your quest, yes. I am a time traveler. But I'm more of a time traveler from the ancient Hittite Empire. Thems were good times. We pioneered chariot warfare, you know. We had some of the most advanced chariots of the era. Too bad our politicians were all crazy from too much inbreeding and burnt their own castle down.

Can't believe I missed this earlier ... I've met him too! That is, if you're talking about the legendary Sailor Bubba. He's something of an institution at Anime Central in Chicago; he's even been used as a mascot a couple of times, IIRC. Total sweetheart and, yes, doing it for a laugh.

Some of these costumes I can't really hate. Toilet Paper Kakashi, for example, is just so weird as to be funny, and it's hard to tell if they're not being done for a laugh. It's surprisingly hard to construct an even halfway-recognizable wig from soft paper, after all.

The Mudkips, on the other hand, need to be introduced to the wonders of dyed bodysuits.
