I dunno, that one doesn't seem so bad to me. Except for the bowlcut. Bowlcuts always look dumb.

Unless you're Guy Gardner or Moe from the Three Stooges. Otherwise, that character's skin tone doesn't even look like something some POC would have in real life.

it also made me realize why some of the faces these people draw looks so... ugly and lumpy... the bridge of the nose is too big and goes past the eyes onto the forehead
i assume its an attempt at drawing a big nose but it just ends up looking like they scaled the whole nose up in their art program, fix that and im sure the whole face would come together much nicer

The mutilation of the human figure in nu-Tumblr more closely resembles Picasso's art.

Picasso intentionally made his art push away from logical norms. Tumblr blerps are trying to make it closer to their ideal social norms of ugliness. They're subconsciously trying to be like Picasso, minus any sort of intellectual merit. We are in "The Death of Intellectualism" age in art, so it is fitting how art is regressing in terms of craftsmanship and purpose.

Guernica is one of the most influential pieces of art out there. It's famous because it was made in response to the bombing of Guernica and depicts the horrors of the event in a cubist manner.

Contemporary tumblr art is made to fetishize social constructs. There is no intellectual statement or appeal to emotions; it is made to circlejerk people of color and LGBT.

I’m not gonna lie, the Velma redesign looks pretty cute. But I’d rather see “her” as a fanart version of Black!Hermione Granger from the HP musicals or as an OC, it’d work far better that way.

The rest, though? Aside of MAYBE Shaggy (whose “design” would also look good as an OC)... N O P E. Especially black!Elsa, Otabek-lookalike!Fred and Vaguely!Asian!Daphne. Daphne’s Scottish heritage was a plot point in one of the series, you fuckers, don’t delete it!

When the art book came out, people were crying out about racism again when they saw the concept art where they were considering making Amethyst wear a chola bodysuit. Some said it was racist because Amethyst is obviously black and wouldn't wear something stolen from "latinx" culture and some said it was proof that she really is latina

You'd think since these people are so obsessed with nonwhite people they'd be able to draw them properly.

Why would they be able to, if they need to reblog "ART TIPS" that remind them that the palms and bottomside of the feet of black people aren't the same color as the rest of their skin
