You're getting better at atmospheric perspective. I like how washed out the lines in the mid-ground and background look. Play down the black outlines all-together in the foreground and use higher contrast in the values in the foreground and you'll really nail it!

thanks for the tips. I was satisfied with the way the line art came out with the line in the back being of lighter transparency value, but the addition of the colored layers made the effect less pronounced than initially intended. On second glance, I see what you mean about the color contrast in the immediate foreground, with some of the grey and yellow.

One thing I do to keep track of my values is use a layer filled with black and set to the color blending mode.

It's pretty helpful to see the levels of light and dark you're using in a more objective sense.
