That feud was actually funny, because it was the closest TV approximation of the autistic feuds we see on the internet.

Then one episode "Wil" suddenly decides to be Sheldon's bestest friend, which fell incredibly flat for me and completely untrue to the character. I am pretty sure that was done on Wil Wheaton's insistence, as the funny has been sucked out of the whole relationship now.

I don't think they even get him on the show any more.

Also his tabletop show is (or at least was) filmed in the same place as a clown porno. I don't have the image anymore, but Im sure someone does.

I think the point was that he was relevant to the character's. And back then the show was successful, but not nearly as much as it is today.

No he's still there. I think he's appearing again at some point this season.
