What I don't get is, why would anyone want to associate with the furry raiders anyway? Like, if you're a furry you're already marginalized and possibly ostracized, so why get involved with the one group of furrys all other furrys hate? Is it just the overwhelming desire to be as edgy and unique as possible? Attention seeking thru identifying with a group they know is "bad" or controversial?

They're a big enough fandom to have distinct separate groups and political spectrums, so I wouldn't say that they only join because it's edgy. That being said there are a lot of immature furries that still use XD unironically as shown above, so I would say there's a bit of mystique to it as well. Plus, there's an illusion of power that the Raiders have because of people on the opposite side making a big deal out of every stupid thing they do, no matter how small.

Their belief that they have more influence than they actually do is ONLY because of the leftyfurs reacting. If the left stopped acting like speds the raiders wouldn't be continuing their high horse bullshit.

While I do agree to a degree, I think they have slightly more influence than we'd like to believe. The reaction and recognition has only grown their numbers, and with bigger groups comes a bigger dick to swing around. I mean, they are recognized enough to be banned from like half of the furry cons in the nation.

Their numbers have stagnated and some have even left. Considering that they don't know that the FBI is watching both the raider and altfurry servers, I'm not surprised they're keeping their members.

Their core numbers are pretty low and you're more likely to see Alt-Furry associated accounts being either sympathizers who just hate rabid leftist furries or burnt out furries who hate both sides and want the fandom to go back to the "good old days". As mentioned in the Blumiere thread, Alt-Furry is heavily fractured with tons of splinter discord chats existing because of either Len kicking someone or someone falling out with Len/another member and starting their own server.
There are leftist furries who think Alt-Furry is a group of evil masterminds instead of a bunch of sad losers who LARP online, and if anything that makes them seem bigger than they are.

They have virtually zero influence in the grand scheme of things at this point, and I have seen no evidence to the contrary. The only power they do have these days is the power to say or do stupid shit that causes the leftyfur spergs to go nuts on social media every once in a while. Not exactly something that strikes fear into the hearts of men.
Membership has been dropping. People announce they are cutting ties with either group and hope to get back into the fandom at large by leaving. Jalmu is one such high profile case. There is also a considerable amount of infighting within Raiders and AltFurry, multiple sub-factions starting up with varying goals. The servers have a fair amount of users, but there are maybe twenty active people in any particular hangout during peak hours. (Is the Raiders Facebook chat is a little more active? I haven't been keeping an eye on that one.)

Foxler is only well known and in charge of things because of his infamous armband and shady past. Without him they would have nothing to draw people in. While early on their infamy was good for absorbing newbies, trolls and edgy teens, that doesn't really promote long term growth. Being banned from conventions across the country is not going to help their numbers either. (I'm very interested to see if somebody gets the balls to try and replace him. @Dionysius , maybe?)

I thought the leaks lessened because they were also paranoid of leakers. I mean the way they talk about this site gives the impression that some raiders and admins literally think that the site as a whole (as opposed to say, only a few members) is trying to take them down.
