Basically some Idea Guy is pulling the strings, though I'm unsure of 4chan's involvement since their original name was "/pol/troll". Also, ever since Bob died any attempts at trolling have been viewed as weening regardless of how elaborate the person is, classic Chris died with Bob.

It's not paid, Chris never makes antagonistic videos for money. This is definitely Idea Guy stuff.

TBH, if you remove the seaweed hair, then this would be the closest video to Classic Chris in years. He even makes a similar face to some old videos. Yet there's still a vastly different vibe about it.
