I don't get why anyone would work with DSP in terms of his track record when it comes to partnerships. Its always ended with that person having enough and leaving and then he gets salty and burns major bridges with them and rants about them any time they're brought up. Legit. Every single partnership he's ever had has ended this way.
Rambo and Howard
Adsense
BlipTV
Machinima
Laveria
Aggy (Remember her)
Respect the Pact
Leanna
That other chair company
Lootcrate
That Amazon thing he was part of.

Why would you ever partner with a man who will proceed to absolutely shit all over you the second the partnership is over. I mean sure at the time he'll practically suck your dick and kiss your ass (Which is funny because he always says its his "honest thoughts" at the time then after the partnership is over he makes a video about how he REALLY felt at the time. So how can you believe he's honest?) but the second you split, you're on his hit list forever, and its always a messy split.

You'd think he'd click on and think "Maybe its me? Maybe I'm not a victim? How can all these people parting ways be a coincidence? Nah, lets shit on them and say its their fault."

He is completely incapable of mentioning or promoting the chair without immediately following that up by insulting OPSeat. This is what it means to do business with Phil. He splits his time between promoting current supporters, and throwing previous supporters under the bus. But as others have pointed out, this chair company doesn't care. The best part is what this is demonstrating about Phil.

The 'realest motherfucker on the internet' will not tolerate 'slander' of the company claiming that they resell cheaper chairs for higher, but he knows it's true, and so he vaguely defends it by saying people are idiots if they think any of these companies manufacture their own products. Apparently 'realist' also means 'painfully obvious shill'. Which we knew, but it's great to see it so blatant. And hey, he's also doing a lot of great promotion for Lolcow which he mentioned by name more than SpawnSeats.

EDIT: Someone just commented that nobody complains about Wal-Mart selling stuff from China, and nobody complains like they did about Phil's sponsors and Phil agreed.

But PHIL has previously complained about Wal-Mart doing this, which is why he doesn't shop there. Quality troll cheer.

"Look dood. Gimme a chair, okay. And then I'll promote it on my stream, alright?"

"Here's a free chair and a referral code for 10% off for your fans. It's the same code deal we give anyone when they go to our site anyways. Really, we don't even care about sales right now as much as we do driving traffic to move us up the Google results when people look for similar products."

"Okay guys, so I got a new sponsor for chairs. And dood I built this chair balancing it on my DICK. This chair needs TWO people to build it. Bugged fucking chair mechanics. I haven't even had time to use it because I threw my back out building it and had to go sit down, dood. What a fucking workout. I haven't been this tired since my last workout at the grocery store. Anyways, a real adult house like mine needs a REAL chair. Not some fucking slander detractor bullshit chair."

These Spawn guys are probably laughing all the way to the bank.

Is this something he'd know about in advance, how many of his subs were gifted and for how long?

I think most of them were Vidar. He used to do that quite a bit.

Phil's got too much of an ego to buy his own fake viewers.

I mean...probably...

Unless this is all his own little puppet show that he funds himself....

Here's a list of all those who gave subs during January 2018. I would assume they're all only 1 month subs. If you want the "who they went to", I can get that as well. Please note that I think there were some $9.99 and $24.99 subs. When I coded this part, I erroneously assumed that nobody would actually donate more than a $4.99, which is not necessarily true.

Edit: And the total number gifted was 85 for the month, which accounted for ~20% of the total subs.

Domain was delegated in December so a little more than a month before the OpSeat thing. I can't find any business registrations using the term term Spawnseats. There's a whopping 80 likes on their Facebook page.

But I mean does Phil have some sort of dashboard in Twitch with this info? He surely isn't coding up scripts to figure this out.
I'm wondering just how much of it's a surprise it's going to be for him when the subs come crashing down. Based on all those goals he's setting up it sounds like he expects them to be permanent.

I missed his pre-stream, was his shilling the sponsorship hard? just a move to repair his ego after the OPSEAT thing, from what we know of this new company being sponsored by Leanna's soap shop would be more legitimate.

He spent a couple minutes talking about what a pain the chairs are to build, how they're cheap Chinese builds sold at inflated prices, how that's a fine business practice because everybody does it and then segued into shitting on OPSEAT for about fifteen minutes.
