Speaking of Vidar...Someone cheered during tonight's Sunshine stream asking an interesting question: Does Phil hate any of his fans? Phil says he doesn't want to continue the "Vidar drama", but his answer suggests otherwise.

Phil said, "I don't hate any of my fans. But certain ones were overzealous, clingy, and obsessed."

The chat figured Phil was talking about Vidar. It's interesting that despite his going dark, Vidar has been a topic of conversation in Phil's stream for the past few days, even being brought up by Phil himself. The other day, Phil was feeling nostalgic for Vidar's cheer wars, but failed to whip his current supporters into enough of a frenzy.

I think Phil is starting to feel the financial inconvenience brought about by Vidar's ban. While Vidar may not have been able to drop a thousand at a time anymore due to being in between jobs, he still gave Phil a Christmas bonus in the way of hundreds of dollars for the "fundraiser" (which he hashtagged charity after insisting Phil was not a charity LOL).

And there are still various unaccounted for rumors regarding Vidar's patronage of Phil. We don't know how much he was giving to Phil each month on Patreon (though we do know it was $50+ in the past). It seems Phil's Patreon is currently coming up a few hundred dollars short. There were also hundreds in tips and ~50 gift subs from Christmastime possibly attributed to Vidar sock accounts. Then, there was the question of ~200 likely viewbots suddenly disappearing.

While not as extravagant, the money spent in recent months certainly adds a significant amount to Phil's bottom line. I can't tell whether Phil is trying to make an appeal to Vidar by mentioning him again, but it will be very interesting to follow the money in the coming months.

After phil saw the reaction to the tax fundraiser...that was it.. he knew if he could rinse his fans around twice a year with emergency's then it was easy street from here on in....so he thinks..

Something important that relates to both PC build bungling and Phil's gullibility: does anyone remember the time in 2016 when Leanna's PC up and died? Phil bizarrely insisted on spending $500-$600 for some premade on Amazon. He refused to build one himself, and refused to even troubleshoot the damn thing to see whether it was salvageable.

Both these options were ruled out because "it would take too much time" compared to simply finding a premade, and time is important. Since... Leanna's business was based on Etsy. And she needed a working PC RIGHT NOW to be able to print receipts for orders. She insisted, and then he insisted, that The White Grape would go out of business if there was no activity for the 8-10 days a repairman's diagnosis would take, or shipping parts would take. Never mind that

• they both owned mobile phones and iPads with (I presume) wireless printing
• Phil himself obviously owns a printer-ready PC
• the local library is always open
• who the fuck in a queue for luxury soap can't wait a few days? Which two (max) people would be seriously inconvenienced by this and cancel their orders in the meantime?

It was such a strange event. Beyond Phil being painfully pussywhipped, I have to assume she took him aside and fed his own line back to him: "You know waffle, a day I don't work is a day I don't make money." And he believed that dumb shit, because his own self-perception as a serious adult businessman means that's how he's supposed to see things.

It sounds to me like she memed a new PC out of him the same way he memed $10,000 in "back tax" money out of his viewers.

And then the dumbass set a $1,300 Patreon goal for a new PC at the beginning of last year, when he could have purchased a perfectly capable prebuilt for around $500 less and used his current PC to stream games.

I think you're giving Phil way too much credit. He doesn't play 4D chess like this. This is not a dude who thinks ahead more than half an hour, only time it happens is when he's planning on where to go to pickup dinner. He lives in the moment, and revises narratives afterwards to make himself look better.
He truly doesn't think people can "DOXX" her just because he had her delete her Myspace and Club Penguin accounts. He feels invincible right now because we haven't been able to do anything with a back of the head shot except fall for a Dutch catfish.

IRL name/address/phone numbers isn't especially exciting.

Finding traces of other usernames with furaffinity accounts is exciting.

There's no guarantee that people will have any "traces" to anything exciting. There really, really isn't and its not possible to predict. Some people are genuinely super cautious about how they use the internet and others not so much. Some people just don't use the internet that much in the way other people do (even if they play video games doesn't mean they keep a steam profile or have online friends).

With how the education system has tried to hammer into people's minds that "the internet is dangerous" it doesn't necessarily take a very intelligent person to exercise caution.

Nowadays things are very different though, as many databases get compromised and stuff that people have been careful about doesn't necessarily ever stay private.

Its also entirely possible to have a meaningful/high-profile internet "personality" without ever tying back to a real life identity (if you can dox Satoshi Nakamoto I'll give you 10 bucks).

Then again, people who claim that they are "unhackable" or "undoxable" or "undefeatable" usually paint a giant target on their backs. The harder you claim that people can't get at you, the more attention you bring to yourself, which is why anyone who claims that stuff (whether it has merit or not) in the first place is a giant idiot.

Pretty sure if all the information is public record or gathered through social media, and isn’t used for blackmail, doxing is not illegal. But that’s cool, let them keep grasping at straws. The hilarity continues.

Okay I brought this up on twitter to someone who brought up that she isn't going to have a social media but I think it's worth repeating in this day and age not having a social media account of some sort be a fb account, a twitter, a linkedin or what have you raises major red flags for employers as they have nothing major they can go off to verify behaviours to see if the person works within the company as a effective worker and fit in with the group in general.

Most companies tend to have it as a major question that if you have a social media account or not and if not they ask the follow up question of "why don't you have a social media account of any sort?" and if she anwsers with "Oh it's because my boyfriend told me it's to avoid getting doxed by those detractors of his" She is more then likely not getting hired outside of a goverment aid program where they don't ask that question.
