If this person was out saying actual racist/pro-fascist things I understand, no company in entertainment industries wants to deal with that junk. A few bad jokes is too much of a stretch, though

Well to my knowledge the guy worked with them online. I'm sure he could get SOME kind of work locally with his skillsets at least.I imagine he still wants to work in the city again so he has to play nice. It's a shitty insular place from my understanding. Gonna be hard to get work in tech coming out as a conservative though. Look what they did to Palmer Luckey. Luckelily ( haw haw) for Palmer he had fuck you money and the drive to start up his own stuff.

If you're amazed that culture didn't turn into a static, unchanging thing somewhere in the '80's, I have bad news for you. Huge swathes of people hated capitalism in the 70's and companies pandered to them. Huge swathes of people believed communists were hiding behind every bush in the 50's and companies pandered to them (this is why so many adverts in the 50's wrapped the brand in the flag). The market is the slave of the consumers, which is a beast with a million heads and no brain.Hah, far from it. The token woman, black, etc, is their idea of fighting conservatives. They don't want a token conservative. They put all their fears and hatred into the effigy of the conservative in their head. They want to pathologize conservativism (in all its forms) completely and utterly. Schools are starting to punish children for saying mainstream conservative things. People getting fired (like in this case or Damore's).
Humanity, deep down, must have some sort of death wish or desire for self-annhiliation. I cannot understand why the people that have benefited most from capitalism, free trade, and entrepreneurship are so fucking hostile to the system they justly and fairly succeeded in. Even those that relied on freedom of speech the most to dissent are those that currently most loathe it. You see these big titans of tech or just general software companies almost promote socialism. They are certainly receptive to it and go out of their way to hire and protect people that are sympathetic to those views. Damore, for instance, basically made an argument that a lawyer would have made in court towards Google's hiring practices regarding a lawsuit they are in for alleged wage discrimination. Damore claimed Google wasn't really discriminating, he was basically defending the company, and they fired him for it. These people desire their own annhilation so bad it's disturbing. These people are trying to manufacture a new normal, restructing society, and they want to do it in a way that is absolutely destructive not only to others but themselvees.

It does attract all sorts of spergs, from those that can't separate art to those that think certain things are pandering.Vidya was a mistake.
In the 50's, half of the employment process for many companies was a virtue-signalling mess about how much you really, really hated left-wingers. Anyone with an even remotely left-wing position was at a risk of getting blacklisted. For example, my grandfather, who had socialist tendencies in that he was a fan of unions, was fired from his manager position at a business because of his political views. When he successfully sued the company and the court ruled that he had to be offered the next job available at that site, the company literally moved its entire office complex to another city more-or-less to spite him. Same shit, different end of the spectrum.Yeah, but were companies run by asshole socialist hippies back then? I'm not merely talking about marketing to these people. Che Guevara shirts don't surprise me. I'm talking about setting company policies and firing people that go so far as to defend the company. I know universities have, for a very long time now, sheltered terrorists and lunatics, but I've never heard anything about company firing people for being too much of a capitalist or not being socialist enough. Google's firing of Damore, for example, who was essentially defending the company, is not something I'd ever heard of happening until now. They don't just want them to buy their products. They are soliciting them for job offers and high paying positions, at least in important California companies.

You do realize that "socialism" is a political position that ranges across the board and isn't just genderfuck retards who shout about smashing the state, right? Just like how capitalism can be things other than "the state should fuck off and just let massive megacorporations own and run everything". For example, my grandfather is a large believer in social welfare and job training programs, had a Master's in engineering with a specialization in civic planning, and worked his way up to manager from the goddamn factory floor (and, in a more general sense, into the middle class from literal poverty). He played the game according to all the rules, and then the upper management decided to burn him because they didn't like that he disagreed with their political opinions. The fact that you think this outcome is okay because "lel gommunism, he must've just been a stupid thief, go get a jerb hippie" shows an insultingly primitive view of the world. People should be fired based on lack of merit or criminal activity, not based on their opinions; it's just as wrong when it happens to the Left as it is when it happens to the Right. The point isn't political witchhunts or firings or hirings. I's the suicidal death wish of siding against their own survival. The right wing has been pro-capitalism, and it would only make sense for a company to blacklist a socialist. That's my point. Why are large companies elevating those that want to destroy them on an ideological level?
I wouldn't blame a company for not hiring a socialist or communist anyway, they're fifth columnists that steal and shoplift from their workplaces relentlessly. Anyone who has known a socialist knows they are thieves that have justified in their heads what they are doing. No, they should not be working for companies while wanting to destroy them. I'm sure there's a lovely vegan collective cafe in the dumpy part of town that would love to hire them.
Now, they go out of their way to hire them.

EDIT: the fact that you're revenge-rating my posts now that I've challenged your viewpoint speaks volumes.
Some of them are saying they aren't going to buy the game now.
