Why is it that artists who claim to be super duper not-racist always seem to draw minorities in such insulting ways? Seriously, I've seen actual racist alt-right comics that depict brown/Asian/jewish people more respectfully than some of the examples in this thread.

A lack of talent, overcompensating for the character's new "racial traits" to make them stand out, or both.

I mean, if you're stuck in the Tumblrverse all day where people lose their shit if you "whitewash" a black character by making them look slightly too European you'll end up with weird ideas about race. But I don't understand why they go so far to deemphasize gender traits like boobs and jawlines but do the exact opposite when it comes to depicting ethnic characters. It's the lack of internal consistency these people have that really drives me up the wall.

It's been proven over and over that they don't know how to draw different ethnicities... Are they that scare to look up at real people? Even like, pictures on the internet? Observation is the most important skill in art, even for cartoon art styles. smh

u generally dont wanna put details like body hair or stretch marks on a drawing if your style isnt meant to be realistic, it just looks off
or if u DO draw em, make em more simplistic

It has been a while....

These people either don't watch the show or their brains zone out when they do. It's odd Hunk doesn't really connect with them since he's overweight and dark-skinned like a number of their redraws.

I'm surprised that not a lot people like Hunk especially season 1 gave him moments to appreciate him (he is still favorite character). Maybe he because straight that why.

For the fanon column, they forgot "throws random spanish in his sentences because tumblrinas don't know how to write latino characters".

The only time someone throws random Spanish if one, that they don't speak a lot of Spanish and two, it usually with family member and nobody else.

People literally forgot that colonialism happened in Latin America countries and that pure reason why Latino has large range of skin tones and mixed cultures but of course, people wants bash you in head about African slaves, this coming for someone who one side of family have African slaves in Mexico.

The anime doesn't help itself when Miki is considered the fastest and her nickname is Miki the Witch. It makes you wonder if anybody is fastest then her that means they are demon and...they are little darker than her. Then you thinks about the fastest runner in the world in real life. It was racist joke waiting to happen.

The woman in this picture looks like a guy with saggy tits. I also seriously thought the man on the left was a girl because of how feminine he looks. Are these people so seriously deep in denial about human anatomy and biology?

This Tumblr phenomenon is a great example of the crabs in a bucket mentality. If tumblrinas can't be attractive then nobody can. Instead of taking care of their bodies and things such as basic hygiene and weight management they tear down other women they feel threatened by.
