Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

The best thing Trump has done so far is to put an end to the Bush/Clinton political dynasties. Jeb is an unlikable cuck and Chelsea is a fucking idiot so unless someone pops up out of nowhere they truly are dead and thank fucking God for that.

But I want to be ruled over by the same people over and over! Please rape my butt!

Chelsea Clinton is such an unlikable punk that even Lisa Page talks about her being a self-important, entitled prat. When even the people involved in your political fixing think your daughter's an idiot, your daughter's probably an idiot.

@neverendingmidi : I wish her the best of luck, if she tries. She's going to need it.

And yet I’m sure Chelsea will crawl back into politics somehow. God knows she doesn’t have any practical qualifications. Or who knows, one of the Bush twins. YOU WILL ACKNOWLEDGE THE DYNASTIES!!!

Yeah, I think someone's salty that his brother got called "low energy".

I mean, he is, but you're not supposed to point it out. That's just not nice, and the GOP is supposed to be the Nice Party.
But muh "Compassionate Conservatism" and "Presidential Behavior" though. Pro tip National Review crowd. The Left is always going to hold the Right in contempt. Being well behaved and well presented pushovers like you want isn't going to change that. I'm really sorry that Trump's way of doing things hurts you're self image as a "Respectable Conservative". But you see unlike the Romney way or the McCain way the Trump way actually works. It's also way more fun than turning the other cheek 24/7 like previous Republicans have.

I'm sure they could become congress critters, but I think any higher aspirations are probably denied them. Meaning that yeah, the Clintons and Bushes will probably follow the path of the Kooky Kennedy Klan.

To be fair, it's not as if the Right views the Left any better. No wonder the US government is such a complete shitshow. One party can control the Executive and Legislative branches and still manages to accomplish fuck-all. It's hilarious to watch how incompetent all of them are, regardless of political stripe.

....Didn't he also claim that he went to war with Iraq because God told him to?
He spent most of Decision Points painting Iraq as a bizarre sort of neo-Crusade, where his faith may have led him to place too much trust in sketchy intelligence, but that the overriding goal of establishing a hub for democracy in the Arab world would serve America's interests better in the long term. He does as much as possible to paint Saddam as an earthly Satan without directly making that comparison.

I really hope these screechers know that Trump literally got the military parade idea from the French.

I personally think that the day the French beat us in a military dick swinging contest is the day we commit suicide... we must have a grander parade.

I'm not claiming that the Right is any better on the partisan front. I'm just taking issue with the notion that the Right must always be the "Nice Party".

It's an impression they aim for because the Reps that tended to get into positions of influence would be the sorts who would simply laugh or nod while some Dem loon screamed in their face about how evil they were.

Trumpian/Tea Party (as I doubt without the incorporation of the Tea Party into the Republicans a guerrilla campaign like Trump's probably wouldn't have worked.) methodology is to call a spade a spade and to tell the Democrat screaming about North Korea and how we're becoming it to fuck off.

After years if not decades of carefully managed spins and images there's clearly an appetite for someone relatively unspun. This is how Trump worked because despite being a Billionaire he eats his steaks well done, enjoys a cheeseburger and acted like a big kid while honking a horn in a truck at the White House.

Nigel Farage played exactly the same (who advised Trump in the early days) and Jacob Rees-Mogg (an out and out Baron) is also now wildly popular despite their stances on various things.

The Republican Party is not right-wing; they just attract a lot of desperate right-wingers because Democrats tend to get violent in the presence of anyone who disagrees with them.

It's kind of like going back to live with your drunk dad because yeah, sure, he's ineffectual and spends most of his time slobbering into the carpet, but your ex-husband beats you when you complain about him spending your paycheck on hookers.

The obvious solution, of course, is to get some space by yourself and start living well, but you underestimate the power of Established Routine.

It's a shame that the strident, shrieking autists on both extremes tend to drown out the moderates who could actually come together to get things done. It's almost as if you guys need to reset the system and start over with something that might be able to function despite the increasingly-extreme partisanship that seems to become more and more entrenched by the day.

It's not quite the same up here, at least as far as slinging around the words Conservative and Liberal as insults or generalizing everyone of a particular political bent as the worst, most extreme POS possible. But I guess it's because the words mean something different here.

Well, there's the NDP and the Green Party, but it's not as if they'll ever form a federal government, lol.

There's also the fact that so far most of the attempts to establish a third option have been unable to see the forest for the trees, most of them becoming so desperate for votes or some semblance of power that they throw their actual ideals under the bus.

Gary Johnson, for example, is the worst libertarian that you've ever heard of, being arguably further to the left than Hillary Clinton or even Bernie Sanders... but you have heard of him. So because at least people have heard of him, he's been allowed to lead the Libertarian Party for years, and under the leadership of that feckless pothead the party became all about "Hey kids vote for us we'll legalize weed on the federal level." That was it, that was their sole attempt at drawing in voters, they gushed about legalizing weed to the younger generation. Meanwhile Johnson also made things like socialized healthcare and a policy of wanting to only appoint judges that deferred to the federal government part of a party that was founded in direct opposition to those things.

Shit like that and Ron Paul's pathetic limping attempts at an independent run, as well as Ross Perot's odd and disarrayed independent run have pretty much killed the potential for a third party to gain power in the US. That's another reason Trump had the success he did... people have shrugged off the idea that change might come from outside, now they just have to hope that the Republican party itself could be reformed by giving power to members of it who more closely align with their ideals and don't play the Democrats' game.
