Or you know, because he is black.
sorry to sound like an sjw, but does the oh so progressive channelawesome have any black people on it aside rap critic?
Well, there used to be That Chick With The Goggles, but she left the site in 2011. I don't believe there are others.

They barely have any reviewers of color, period. I know there's AngryJoe (Hispanic) and Todd (Balinese), but Joe's debatably white-passing and Todd doesn't show his face, so... that's something.

Channel Awesome definitely prescribes by the "let's cherry-pick 1 person of each marginalized identity" diversity quota common in "progressive" media outlets.

The next person they should hire could be a muslim or an Hispanic who barely knows English.

Remember Doug's precious Mah-Ti character? He was the worst character in TGWTG until Santa Christ and showed Doug's complete ignorance in the Captain Planet cartoon.

1) First of all, the "Heart" Power had TONS of uses. Telepathy with animals, Jedi-mind trick-like uses, and obviously, was the Heart of Captain Planet.
2) The portrayal of Mah-Ti by that Barghav person was sickeningly horrible. He looked like a person from Bangladesh or another similar country. Mah-Ti was actually from South America.
3) To hell with Mah-Ti for constantly ruining the pace of Suburban Knights. Of course, every time he appears he's annoying to all the characters and they make him go away with a personality very much not like the real Mah-Ti. And of course, when he gets killed at the end, they suddenly feel sorry for him.

To be fair, they make that joke in the original Captain Planet review, revealing that NC's 'Ma-Ti' is actually an imposter and he's just some random Indian kid with a grudge against Ted Turner.

you know, for a guy who tries to be part of the liberal crowd, Doug Walkr seems to be kinda homophobic based on his reviews.
Why else would his portrayal of Joel Schuhmacher be as flamboyant as in his latest review?

I dunno if I'd say he tries to be part of the liberal crowd himself as much as he just tries to attract a liberal fanbase. But even then, he doesn't seem super dedicated to it, since it never really goes deeper than Trump jokes or quick nods to feminism.

And Doug's relationship to queerness in particular is sort of weird, because he grew his e-fame in an era when flamboyance and exaggerated homoeroticism was considered fanservice, so he got used to doing nothing more than "haha watch me act effete and mime sucking dick!" to reel in views. But nearly 10 years later, Doug's schtick hasn't really changed because he grew comfortable with a formula, but people expect more nuance from their representation now so nobody flocks to him to fulfill those cheap gay laughs anymore. This is, of course, only one of many reasons Doug is a relic of 2008, but I digress.

Speaking of gay shit, do Doug's fans still rant in the comments about how Doug never chooses LGBT related charities for his fundraisers?
And does anyone remember that Guilty Pleasures song in the Moulin Rouge review? There was this one lyric:
"Yes, it's dumb
Yes, it's gay
But we love it anyway!"
and I remember some butthurt commenter ranted about how "you don't call things gay as an insult." And that was back in 2013.
