Not sure it's just her knees that are killing her.

Honestly, I hope she decides to try and recover. There's no reason to do this. It's not hurting anyone but her.But I guess she wants it that way.
Well, here's to hoping she sees the error of her ways, as unlikely as that may be.

It's literally impossible for her to recover at this point. She's caused permanent damage at levels even concentration camp victims haven't survived.

It hurts anyone who ever cared about her, but maybe that's the point. I stalked some pro ana communities in their peak (early-mid 2000s) and that was not unheard of. Like spite suicide but fewer people blame you, and you get to be around to watch people suffer. Eating disorders are comorbid with many tragic things like childhood sexual abuse and depression, but they are also often comorbid with narcissistic personality. The online communities are full of the latter torturing the former, it's pretty awful.

Looking at pictures of concentration camp victims as a kid, I was always curious about what that would actually look like. Black and white/low quality photos didn’t quite convey it. I couldn’t imagine any of the people in those pictures moving around or talking to each other.

Now I know.

With a spite suicide the people that truly cared about you hurt the most and always have that "what could I have done to change things" intrusive thought. Their overall memory of the person is somewhat tainted by how things ended but they can focus on the positive memory of the person, the good times that were there.

With this, all of this prolonged self harm overshadows all of that. So when she finally dies there's some sadness sure, but there's also relief because being like this is draining for everyone around her. She is a weight on the lives of everyone who cares about her.

The best part though is that she craves attention but will be completely forgotten soon after her body gives out.
