its pry for Autism AwarenessRaising awareness for mental health is strangely appropriate.
As a Muslim woman I derive so much power from the perception that I am meek and mild, the perception that I am quiet and that I am soft spoken so it's really beautiful to be able to surprise people in that way because I feel it gives me a strange credibility that I am going against what is perceived of Muslim women by also just being myself. I do think that as black women we don't let bullshit just happen and that is not a bad thing even though society perceives it to be and for Muslim women it is the same way. I think it is just kind of whatever way that society has pushed these stereotypes and characteristics and these stereotypes onto us, if we can find a way to push up against that it is resisting and being yourself.
Blair Imani, the executive of “Equality for Her,” says that certain groups need “safe spaces” and she thinks the government should pay for them. As you might imagine, Tucker Carlson disagrees. Their debate aired Friday on Fox News.
“First I think we need to start by understanding that everybody kinda misunderstands what a ‘safe space’ means,” Imani said. “So for me today, I’m talking about ‘safe spaces’ being somewhere where you can be who you are without having fear of being surveilled, having violence committed against you or being harassed. And I think it’s a good idea to have everywhere.”
“America was built on the idea that we could express our religious freedoms,” she continued, “that we can have our free speech, I know that’s something that you very much believe in and I think it’s, you know, a necessary thing. And we’re talking about ‘safe spaces’ for Muslims, we need to recognize that we’ve been surveilled for a very long time.”

I dated women, men, and non-binary people but I never spoke about it publicly. The only time I was vocal about being part of the LGBTQ community was in the context of my advocacy work.
I converted to Islam in 2015, and I quickly learned about the discrimination Muslims have been enduring first hand. Later on, as I began to wear hijab, my visibility as a Muslim woman seemed to “invite” harassment. Thanks to xenophobia, it was assumed that I did not speak English and that I was not from America. In the wake of the mass shooting at Orlando's Pulse Night Club in 2016, thanks in part to sloppy and opportunistic journalism, it was also assumed that I was homophobic and that queer Muslims could not and did not exist. I tried to push against the rhetoric, but I ultimately took a step back from being out and became very quiet about my queer identity.
Sooo turn this into a thread?View attachment 385485
This idiot seems to have a trail beind them. She's A Black Muslim activist and a member of the BLM movement.

Here is a snippet from an interview she was in. She is stereotyping herself and how she gains power while complaining about racism. It is almost as though she sees and enjoys how she benefits from social structure and doesn't want the scrutiny or criticism that comes with choosing to take part in a religion where the vast majority of members would rather she be tossed off a building.

She seems to just sort of latch on to whatever seems new to her.

Remember that criticizing the bad in your community is bad for your community. Let shit go unchecked. #echochamberculture

Like a true lolcow she likes to involve herself in twitter battles that have nothing to do with her. At this point it seems like Blair has so few problems in her life that she needs to involve herself in petty slapfights to fill her time.

Not enough info for a thread but anyone who wants to make a thread feel free.Sooo turn this into a thread?
Exactly. At least we don’t pretend that we’re doing it for some righteous cause.I kinda feel that post, being an ED reject myself in the good ol' high school days. But these people aren't really in place to moralize on witchunting, when "callout culture" is a thing they're so proud of. Just substitute 'for the lulz' with fake morality.
