@SoapQueen1 --for clarity, I got the tax amount using a simple online calculator and an income of $100k, so it accounted for the tax that could be deducted (the portion that would normally be paid by an employer) but not much else. Could you provide a little more detail on how you get from the $100k to $68k of taxable income?

20% of his self employment income is deducted from his taxable income, or $20K, and another $12K for a standard deduction is deducted from his taxable income leaving him with $68K of income subject to federal income tax.

In a way she's the opposite of Kim. Instead of having a 10 year legacy of catfishing, she suddenly sprung into existence online like what, 3 years ago?

Good luck getting the entirety of kiwifarms to give up on their forum memes.

>Suddenly sprung to life 3 years ago

Like some Snatcher situation?

He can hardly go 15 minutes without contradicting himself anymore.

I think his personal best is roughly a minute. When he said GameGrumps and Two Best Friends have done much worse playthroughs than he, and then proceeded to say "I don't know diddley-dick about them...".

Dude can't say anything without either contradicting himself, or giving some sort of revisionist history. Like how he recently commented that all people do to get views is "talk nice about games/never bring up the bad aspects of games", but go back a few months and it was apparently "They do nothing but try to create drama with games, instead of just playing the game and trying to enjoy it for what it is!".

Quickly losing count of how many times he's been a hypocrite, as well. Especially with his recent comments towards people defending certain games because they get paid to play them and want views. Situation seems familiar. Shadow of War, Phil? Remember that?

Dood, bugged headset mechanics. These companies spent all this money building headsets that sweat. These eggheads got no street smarts, who wants a headset that exudes human sweat on it's own? Put some Freon in there, sweating is just a ridiculous heat-sink for electronis. It certainly has nothing to do with the simple act of standing and holding his arms up makes Phil sweat profusely, he went outside to play as a child so that he developed good into a peak physical specimen.

I'm all for slow DSP-news days as it means there's no drama for him to capitalise on financially. It's just a boring fat older racist on Twitch, boring tends to mean even his own fans ain't gonna bother donating much.

He will of course soon start creating drama, nearly the end of the month after all. His own fans have witnessed him splurge thousands of dollars in the last month instigating this move for the lady of the female persuasion, some are gonna go WTF if he tries to plead poverty so soon after all that.

That's what puts Phil in such a good situation where he gets smug. He just needs to create drama to generate pitybux. And all he needs to do to create drama is start publicly buying shit.

"WTF! I thought you were poor! REEEEEEE!"

"These mentally ill detractors are harassing me again. ACK ACK ACK"

So when DSP leases another car so Kat can drive to work and back, does that make 2 mortgages and 2 car loans and 2 business loans?

Has he ever paid a loan off so far?

I was gonna post this a few days back, but I guess it keeps coming up.
A recent lolcow thread is a worthy comparison to DSP:
https://kiwifarms.net/threads/curtis-adams-unkle-adams.39401/

TLDR some canadian guy who decided he was destined to become "rich and successful" by a lot of the same metrics DSP uses.
He's gotten himself in a massive amount of financial trouble, taking out dozens of credit cards and basically destined for failure.

I guess if you like DSP for that kind of angle, he's probably worthy of following. He also overreacts to anyone who criticizes him, is exceptionally mediocre in every way possible and has no semblance of reasoning. He also claims anyone who talks about him in a less than absolutely positive light is his version of a "detractor". Pays for shit like "teeth whitening" while taking out credit cards to pay off credit cards.

Now the interesting thing and possibly relevant to DSP discussion is, he takes out store credit cards (like Best Buy) purchases TVs and then flogs them for the cash (which is technically illegal). I don't know or am really suggesting DSP does that, but you can see this video where he explains his finances:

This guy has so much fucking debt on so many different sources, that he has to handwrite down all the amounts he owes because he can't even keep track of it. This may be why DSP has to spend so much time "paying bills".

Phil has stated publically that he pays for credit cards by using more credit cards. This is why he is able to accrue so much debt.

Not that I doubt it, but is there a citation for that?
I only ever heard about his supposed "business loans" and some credit cards he had from before.

If he's really been using credit cards this whole time then no wonder he never paid off anything significant on either property nor ever managed to actually buy a car.

So I read a pretty interesting YouTube comment under Tevin's latest video speculating that Kat works as an Uber driver. Explains a lot why Phil is making such a huge stink about her, not only having her driver's licence and insurance in order, but also learning the layout of the roads. Which before, sounded utterly completely unnecessary.
Kat is not an Uber diver as

a: she doesn't/didn't own her own phone

B: she doesn't have a driver's licence

C: she doesn't have a car

Also about a week ago Phil was complaining about his back and someone asked if it was due to sex. Phil said something like" no, not that I'm not taking advantage of the time we have together" almost insinuating that he knows his time is limited and she won't be there forever.

I'm just wondering what sort of job allows you to transfer across the country and then take a month, or even longer, off. How did she even get to and from her previous job if she didn't have a car? I guess there is public transportation, but why would she not be able to do that here if that were the case? My thinking is that Kat doesn't have a job at all and it was yet another one of Phil's lies. In his bragging about her before she got there, he constantly lied about her in the attempt to make people jealous of how amazing she was. Saying she had a job and would help out with the bills was a short term brag that he's quickly backpedaled on with this idiotic excuse-making about her needing to be on his insurance, needing a license and needing to learn the layout of the roads because then it means people would question his begging if there were two sources of income. He's just stalling for time. He doesn't WANT her to find a job, because he knows how badly that backfired on him with Leanna. She will only drive the car to run errands. Watch, in a few months he'll talk about Kat being fired from her job (that in reality she never had) and he needs to do another fundraiser.

But if he's doing that while making like 5-8K/month then he actually has to be spending way more than any other estimates have speculated, right? We've tracked what he makes and most of what he spends, is why we have these general numbers; he's theoretically way more well off than the average American family and this is as a single earner. People have speculated he makes as much as six figures; at the very least people were saying he's between 80k-100k. Maybe the interest on his credit cards is super shit, but interest rates have been low since like 2008, and every time they start to move up, people start to lose their shit about inflation and how it's all going to fall apart again, so they dont budge, it's been kind of a back-burner issue since Obama's second term, in a way.

I mean, I agree he's the epitome of the spoiled manchild, the prodigal son that never had to grow up because he's never faced repercussions or real responsibility (and in this case Im going to say things like "paying your bills on time" or "doing house and yardwork" arent any more responsibility than brushing your teeth or bathing) and who spends money like water because it doesnt matter; who's never been at want for anything so any minor inconvenience triggers an epic cry-tantrum until he gets his way -- I could imagine that he does just buy anything on a whim with no regard to cost, the more expensive obviously implying value, class and quality -- then bitching about it, but it just would make him look worse, is all.

Not necessarily, he might not be "spending" anything at all besides paying off all of debt with new debt. Would certainly make a lot of sense because he doesn't really buy much that's expensive (besides the car and besides paying for the new girlfriend to move in)

Which makes me agree with what others have said. That was, he was putting Kat out in the open enough just to get at Leanna in some form or fashion.

Why is he taking twitter questions when the patreon forum is the place people pay to ask those?

Edit: By that I mean, why are people dumb enough to support his Patreon when you literally don't get anything out of it anymore.

He has really ramped up the hissy fits. His testosterone levels seem to have been through the goddamned roof. And, yeah, he has just enough positive shit going on to feel completely validated.

Can anyone speculate on whether he has drinking more heavily recently? I feel like he has, but it could just be I've been looking for it. Does anyone :autism: have a sense of his drinking over time?

I feel like he is too damned drunk in some of the food videos. I mean, he's drunk & the food is still hot enough to eat. And nobody can tell me he walked...
Alcoholics, like any other addiction, arent going to appear fucked up. As with any other substance abuse, they need the substance to function at baseline, so if he's an alcoholic, you arent going to see him "acting drunk". He's drinking just to act or feel normal, in that sense. They'd function perfectly fine when any other person would be "fucked up", they can handle it I guess. But I mean the crux of addiction is that the addict needs that substance to meet their own baseline, and act normal.

If he is an alcoholic, the average viewer wouldnt know it. Youre never gonna see him get "silly drunk" or whatever, and honestly I kind of lean towards him having a dependency in that way, but no addict is going to really show it. It's why his " Oh JeEEeeEz guIse Im So FuCkIng DruNk" streams are so stupid and fake.

The thing I recall was late 2014, maybe early 2015, DSP stated in a random prestream that he was using the common 'transfer your credit card balance to our credit card & get 0% interest on it for a year' method, but he was running out of credit card companies to jump to.
He was expecting YT money to roll in through 2014 & 2015, but his views kept tanking in late 2014 - no 'Hardcore Gaming Season' spiking, plus his 3DS capture setup gamble failed when games like Layton vs. Wright didn't pull in the views (the infamous BUSTING MUH ASS doing 'voice acting' prestream). He expected the extra money to be used to pay off his credit card debt from furnishing the house (I vaguely remember a claim of $10K in credit used to furnish it, presumably including the $3K lemon) but that didn't happen... then the SoK fanart strikes & video deletions tanking his search ranking made it even worse for late 2015.
There's even a Patreon subforum post where DSP admitted the ~$350 saved up camera stretch goal money was spent on bills after the September 2015 onwards YT money dropped. This was from November 2015, leaked by Fred during SoKast 57 in mid-late November.
