His commenters are kind of sad.
That’s store bought tortillas and chicken!
No shit. Most people don’t slaughter chickens or make tortillas at home. It’s an Instagram post that basically it wasn’t a prepackaged meal not a cooking show.

What a pleb. I bet he even buys gas at a gas station instead of digging holes in the ground until he hits oil and then refining it personally.

So this tax thing... doesn't strike anyone as odd? I guess not when dealing with DSP, but it really seems like he's never ever done his business taxes himself before...

Almost like he had some fancy mancy tax attorney in Connecticut that used to help him...
but fuck that guy, I heard he was a detractor...

I don't recall DSP's exact reasoning for moving to Seattle. I know he wanted to live somewhere without income tax and moderate weather. If he had moved to say, Kansas they have fiber internet and it is dirt cheap to live there. I think Seattle being a hipster hotspot was part of the reason he moved there. IIRC though Leanna really wanted to move to florida so she could go to the beach. Classic DSP logic, move to the most expensive place.

I think it partly had to do with Leanna wanting to get her soap shit for cheaper because the supplier she liked the most was in Seattle or something (shipping costs)

Anyway, its obvious he put no thought into it at all, moved into the most retard.ed area for his lifestyle and now pays $4-500 a month just for internet access which is a fucking third of what his house costs each month.

Nope; Leanna preferred Florida since her supplier was there, it had similarly friendly business laws, beaches for her to have fun, and she could still meet her folks on longhaul trips semi-regularly. Philly boy wanted WA for some asinine reason that vaguely involved favorable corporate tax or something. My guess is he did not want to deal with sweating at all and hot weather in general. Also possible unconscious effort to seperate his child bride from her folks too.

Hurricanes.

After what happened with Hurricane Sandy, Phil most likely did not want to deal with the possibility of a hurricane knocking him out for weeks.

Also anyone saying he should short sell is pretty retarded.
He has an entire home, that's empty. That he kinda owns.

It's ideal for a bachelor like he was.

Simple answer.

Just rent the thing out ffs.
No idea how much he'd get per month though.

Even better. Move into a place with better internet, in another area that's cheaper.

Rent both the WA and CT places out.
Streaming + youtube + patreon + teespring + CT rental + WA rental = Winning

But I'm an immature idiot troll who knows nothing.

I dunno; he could milk his fans pretty hard with a disaster themed begathon. Plus Florida tends to be much less incompetent with flooding and stuff because they get shellacked with it more. Kind of like how CA, OR, and WA are pretty good at dealing with quakes. You probably did nail his selfish reasoning though.

Oh and he probably preferred WA because it meant he could avoid all the burnt bridges he earned in CT by being really far away too.

professional businessman everybody. totally put-together, in control of his life, doing what needs to be done in order to run a successful business. everybody who runs a business in the US has no idea how much they owe in taxes each year and have to spend 8 hours on the evening they're due poring through receipts and compiling business expense records. there's literally nothing else he could have done. you young 9-5 burger-flippers who dont understand what it's like to be self-employed couldnt possibly understand how much he has to do and instead just eat up disinformation and conspiracy theories from mouth-breathing no-lifes.

I'm sure that getting a definitive 100% answer about taxes is rarely the case until an accountant looks over it and it gets submitted. In any case, you'd obviously at least have a 75%-125% under/over figure, like its not going to be a fucking gift wrapped birthday present "UR TAXES ARE $7 TRILLION DOLLARS!"

He obviously just uses being unable to give a definitive 100% figure over it as a convenient way to keep the "tax saga" going on for eternity.

That depends on the terms of the home loan. Some banks require that every penny made from renting the property out goes to paying off the mortgage. This isn't a bad thing though. He could get rid of that burden and save money for other things or a rainy day. Possible problems are, of course, repairs that may be needed. Regardless it is stupid to hang onto the CT condo, it's burning a hole in his bank account and is unused. It's not making him money at all and the longer it goes unoccupied the worse the condition of the home will probably be. Does Phil have anyone checking on that thing every few months? Shit can go south really fast when nobody is there to catch a possible issue.

If a bank required very penny to go to them. There literally wouldn't be a property rental industry.

It's easy.
He pays $50 for mortgage.
Rents for $60.
He keeps $10.

If the rental income could not cover the additional expected costs. No one would ever rent a house to tenants ever.

Anyway, no point in beating a dead horse or jumping the shark, or being behind the 8 ball. He won't do it.

A reminder for people figuring out his CT stuff, back for that one SoKast (might've been the Laveria discovery one), @Bryan Dunn did some digging about it and found Phil pays every other month on the condo.

The value of the condo is half of what he owes, so there's no way he can rent it out for the cost of mortgage plus extra. It might help with a little bit of money, but it isn't fixing his problem, which is the fact that he can't afford two mortgages.

He can't short sell it anyway. As far as I know he does not qualify so the bank will never allow it unless the price was very close to what he owes on his loan which I think is roughly around $90,000.

Just rent the thing out ffs.

That means him being a landlord, and he would have to manage things. He can't even make a cup of noodles without making a mess, you think he can be a landlord?

Right now DSP probably has over $350,000 in debt between all his loans, and he will never chip away at it unless he starts putting more than the minimum towards the principal which he will never do because he lives above his means constantly. Now with a second mouth to feed and clothe, and another phone bill to pay, he's digging himself deeper.

Subs have dropped by 100, that's around $250, and his patreon is down $400. He's reaching a major lowpoint and he continues to alienate himself by banning and insulting people in his streams. He's destroying himself by simply being himself.
