Jesus christ. This is why Phils detractors are far worse than Phil and his staunchest fans, there's more mirth and merriment to be had from this type of idiot and his ilk.

As for Phil and this 11 year old, was it dumb? Yes. Was it as serious and as appaling as some are making out? Nowhere fuckin near. The worst thing is Phil will say something in a month otr two equally as dumb and the usual suspects will be outraged like this never happened.
I think we're all the same, detractors, mild enthusiasts, fans and third party observers. All shit is shit, regardless of the color or if you call it waste. Some people go overboard--diehard overboard--others want simple recourse, justice if you will, when they see a person blatantly committing fraud. We made him, he made us. Its knowing when to say "hey, this rollercoaster of called DSPLand is deeply pathetic, maybe I need to go elsewhere." that matters. Social media justice(tweeting or emailing support, management; luminaries in social media) works online, as well as it does offline(fired teachers, administrators;politicians and law enforcement). You harass the right people long enough they'll take a look at the shit you're complaining about. Time will tell..

I agree with you but those kind of campaigns work when people who don’t normally complain get fed up and start complaining.

To use .txt as an example: Do you really think anyone with authority at twitch takes him seriously? When your entire social media presence is shitting on DSP and talking about vidjya you lose tons of (if not all) credibility.

Oh yes, I agree with you too. Trust me. I think the harassment method of trying to get the bad seeds out of the soil do not work. This person is turning a complaint about a twitch streamer into an harangue. I wouldn't be surprised if half the people @ reply or look into it. Suffice it to say, Phil's act was sheepishly childish but par the course with DSP and his fans.

Happy Monday everyone.

Lol holy shit, he is tweeting the washington government to get them to handle DSP? What kind of Alog level is this exceptional individual on? @neger psykolog how can one goat filled man be this much of a magnet for rage induced autism?

Don't make fun. Reporting Phil to the government has already paid dividends in the past! I said this during the OPseat debacle -- usual admonishments against trolling plans and senseless ween behavior don't apply to him. At least not in the same way they do to many other cows. Since Phil still gives you pretty good odds of returning with a pathetic manchild reaction.
  1. OPseat social media shaming
  2. the LiquidMK mod "mutiny"
  3. the Department of Revenue anonymous tip
  4. the EvilTable incident
  5. the Kingdom Hearts incident?
  6. EvilAJ stream sniping
  7. copyright strikes
  8. random innocuous troll donations
  9. simply circulating clips of him and mentioning @Twitch and @TwitchSupport

...All examples of autistic behavior which I would have advised against, if consulted. But all of which provoked monstrously bad behavior from Phil. Maybe I'm just no fun!

tbh, Phil trolling is a pretty weird mix where any form of trolling no matter how minor can produce good content on a fairly regular basis and keep the ride going. He's at a sort of middle ground of trolling where he's not having so much that he just shuts down the internet and not so little, he starts to be forgotten

I think the minor trolling actually produces the best results in this case. For instance: <message deleted> or the 11 year old herself.

Phil actually handles detractors well in some respects but to use a baseball analogy all they do is throw fastballs. He can’t hit a curveball to save his life though.

Dude he’s got like 400 subs. That’s not even on their radar for making site wide changes.

If they wanted to get rid of Phil they’d just do it. Changes like this are to address systemic problems, not one middle aged man who sucks at street fighter and balancing checkbooks.

Oh sure, they would do that. In fact we did that one or two times (on a website I won't mention).

As an admin or community owner you have to:
(1) Create a nice place for everyone.
(2) Protect people from each other to accomplish (1).
(3) Treat everyone the same with maximum fairness. This means even DSP has a right for protection.
(4) Only take action if someone breaks a rule. Taking action because of opinions or personal agenda is wrong.
(5) Adjust your rules if (1) and (2) are in danger.

Also DSP is still a partner so if he's gone they throw him under the bus. Twitch mods/admins aren't monsters, so no, they don't just get rid of him. But they could set an ultimatum so he has a chance (if they really created these new rules for his kind).

I can imagine reports about Phil make the vast majority of their inbox. They can't ignore that in the long run.
Edit: I don't literally mean "vast majority" but most likely he is under the top 5 of most reported users.

Edit2: Thanks for the info-bomb, Neger (below this post). I'm always open for corrections. I haven't expected Twitch can be "this" place.

That tweet is hilarious. DSP has never apologized for shit during his time on youtube. He apologized once for something I can't remember because it was so obvious Machinima got on ass and made him do it. He never apologized for the Jew Rant, reading John Rambo's texts, letting the world know Leanna's medical history or saying he would slap an 11 year old girl.

He apologized for being human (after he insulted his whole fanbase because they don't liked his Pokemon stream).

Oh look. The new merch "DSP has created" (basically a quote). Looks okay. But his name ruins it. I don't want to let people know that I wear stuff from DSP.

Phil just can't help causing drama, he would cause an argument in an empty house, surely he must know after his suspension that Twitch will be watching him now, yet he still finds it easy to insult a child, he likes calling everyone idiots but he's a blithering idiot, and you can't get any more idiotic than that :)

Definition of Blithering sums him up perfectly...

Blithering
The act of speaking foolishly and without purpose, often annoying others in the process.
Talking at length for the sake of hearing one's own voice.

He's apologized numerous times for being totally awesome.

The Machinima-enforced apology you're thinking of is the EvilTable explosion. You know, where he gave blanket permission to about 600 watching viewers to find his PSN account and spam it silly? (Ended up not having much effect anyway).

One of my favorite DSP memes is when he has to explain away something he does, and assures us that "You guys know I would never do [x that's on video and mirrored in multiple places]"

And he did state his "regret" for talking about Leanna's medical issues. He said it "wasn't the best idea" in his Christmas Day podcast, but insisted that she had done "fucked up things" to him that put him in a "foul mindset." So... he did it out of spite. Nice apology.

He does cause drama from his empty house LUL. Not even a hamster in there anymore.

With Twitch's global viewership at 1 million or more users on a regular basis, I can practically guarantee that the complaints about DSP are insignificant in numbers.

They didn't create the recent rules based upon his behavior either. That was very likely related to incidents of others streamers talking shit about people (there was one that talked about someone who was threatening suicide or something). Its not just Twitch either, lately its Twitter and most services getting shit and having to pretend they can do something about it.

Stuff like this is what makes Twitch change rules, not a barely relevant goutman who is only known for masturbating:
DSP doesn't make headlines (besides that one time when he masturbated). The minor "fanbase" he has is just supremely dedicated for some reason (:autism:). He sure as shit doesn't influence rule changes on anything and if he was actually causing issues at Twitch HQ I'm sure they'd just ban him forever like they've done to plenty of other streamers.

Don't put him on a pedestal that he hasn't earned. He really thinks Twitch actually does things one way or another based on the number of reports he gets, which isn't even true because he got banned less than a week ago.

DSP is dying for this drama because it means he gets more views which guarantees at least some extra level of income. Even when he slants other people they rarely react because he's a nobody tryhard who has never really achieved anything besides:
  • masturbating on stream
  • having a large amount of debt
  • winning 4th place in some obscure street fighter division
  • surviving for far longer than he should've been able to do so
That's it. He's really not as famous or an inspiration for change for any website or service. The only mystery surrounding him is how he's survived for so long and how the drama surrounding him is always twilight zone level autism for some reason.

Twitter, Twitch and YouTube's chopping block is always going to be dangerous territory because the first ban waves are usually either extremely over/under reaching and it takes time and mistakes for rules to work themselves out.

The new ruleset is only actually in effect starting today, so as a certified autism forecaster I promise you there will be plenty of bans/non-bans that generate huge levels of salt in the coming weeks.

The fact that Phil is trying to damage control this so hard shows he knows he fucked up. He's simply too much of a manchild to publicly admit what he did was wrong and move on. "D-DON'T TELL TWITCH, YOU GUYS. IT WON'T WORK." First of all, he just got suspended last week, for fuck's sake, clearly the reporting had some effect; I highly doubt Twitch actively looks for things to suspend people for. Secondly, Phil overstates the scale of the complaints against him. He's a small fry on Twitch, and I'm sure the bigger streamers get more complaints in a day than he does in a month; it can't be more than a dozen people with autism who complain to Twitch about him. Phil thinks he's "protected" simply because Twitch has more important things to worry about most of the time. However, Twitch will sometimes notice him, as his suspension last week shows, and you think he would have learned that lesson. Phil chooses to die on the dumbest, smallest of hills.

Its still super funny because if you get caught insulting an 11 year old girl, the worst possible strategy that almost no one would ever use is "she started it!".

But DSP did actually use the "she started it!" strategy, which is surely a moment of historical importance, because I can't even recollect a recent or similar situation (besides pedophiles) in which someone has used that strategy.

Good Idea/Bad Idea:

Good Idea: My tax plan requires extra money, I should reduce my expenses so I can pay them off.

Bad Idea: My tax plan requires extra money, let me move in a financially dependent girlfriend and ask anonymous people online for change.
The worst part isn't even that he moved in a financially dependent maid waifu. The problem is that not only is he making excuses for why she can't go out and get a job, he is purposely doing nothing to help her get one. If my wife didn't have a license or a car I would drop her off at work and pick her up. If I worked at home there would be literally no reason not to. Instead, Phil chains her up in his house to do his chores and make him food. Having multiple people in the home bringing in money is a huge weight lifted.

Don’t forget he got noticed for breaking one of the only rules twitch is going to harshly enforce. Treating bits like cash is always going to attract attention and get shut down ASAP. Twitch rightfully doesn’t want the problems that behavior causes.

It’s worlds different than calling people names or generally begging.

It really doesn't matter to him as long as he gets his meals. He's made that clear on twitter and practically every time he brings her up it's about making him food.
I think Phil uses that as a comfort crutch, reminding him daily that he has an "asset".

He could even have her work for a year just to help out since he seems to be indicating he is getting closer and closer to financial stability. He just doesn't think like that. He is horrible at planning and reasoning. Like when Panda Lee was working why didn't they sit down and say, "okay Leanna we're gonna set your work money aside so we can save for disney land trip." Or why didn't he put the patreon money into a savings account cause we can assume Leanna was making an equal or greater amount than he was getting on Patreon.

Edit: Prior to subs and patreon drop he was hinting at financial stability. Perhaps that is no longer accurate.
