"Plaintiffs opposition brief is a ramshackle affair, twenty-five pages long (much of which is single-spaced) and containing a plethora of case citations but making only a handful of actual arguments. "

That "single-spaced" comment isn't a throwaway. Landau (yet again) violated the Rules.

"Rule 6. Form of Papers. All papers submitted to the Commercial Division shall comply with CPLR 2101 and section 202.5(a). Papers shall be double-spaced and contain print no smaller than twelve-point, or 8½ x 11 inch paper, bearing margins no smaller than one inch. The print size of footnotes shall be no smaller than ten-point. Papers also shall comply with Part 130 of the Rules of the Chief Administrator. Each electronically-submitted memorandum of law and, where appropriate, affidavit and affirmation shall include bookmarks providing a listing of the document’s contents and facilitating easy navigation by the reader within the document."

So we can tell Patreon's lawyers do their homework, but how big of a deal this is to Landau? Is the court going to hold this against him and George or just tell them to fix it?

If you want to know who's submitting what on the lolsuit.com site, here's my mini guide for referencing the documents by the date/filing user column:

Landau – Documents from Maddox
Skibell and Olson – Documents from Patreon
Matz – Documents from Dick
Greenberger – Documents from Asterios
Munoz and Kaufman – Documents from Weber Shandwick

There's prolly an easier way to do this.

So now that Maddox has admitted to pretending to be a female Conde Nast journalist, let's reflect on the emails he was sending to Asterios' employer.

Imagine finding a lawyer passed out in a gutter so incompetent that he not only fails to state a claim against the person you're suing, but instead admits that you committed identity theft, fraud, harassment, libel, tortious interference with contract, and whatever else you could be sued for for this stunt, not only by the person you're suing but by an international media conglomerate like Conde Nast, too.

Yeah, I was reading those emails and thinking instead of showing any real evidence of Asterios harassing and CYBERBULLYING! Maddox, they kinda do the opposite and show Maddox harassing Asterios. Why would you admit to this? Doesn't this leave him open for some kind of legal retaliation?

This whole thing just gets more and more baffling as time passes

I wonder how many people with access to big money lawyers he's going to piss off by the end of this.

And many, many counts of perjury for both the lawyer and his client

On one hand, the guy who allegedly focus-tested his revenge video couldn't apply that same rigor towards his choice of attorney.

On the other hand, L.A. being what it is, it must've been a breath of fresh air to hear someone say "yes" to something.

And it's not the first time him and his girlfriend (also a plaintiff in the lolsuit) have been caught contacting someone's workplace trying to get them fired. Maddox's girlfriend has a restraining order against her for contacting Dick's girlfriends employer.

And you better believe this will be brought up if it goes to trial

Could Landau be trying to worm out of sanctions over it by being able to say he made Maddox disclose it to the court?

This is actionable malpractice; unforunately, Maddox is too much of a fucking idiot to act on it.
