This is precisely what is so creepy about this guy to me. He's a PhD neuroscientist who was employed by Duke and a cursory glance through some of the more academic, scientific stuff he's written makes it abundantly clear that he's an intelligent, educated and lucid person. And yet the court documents show he has a history of trying to rope women he thinks he has power over (e.g. the lab assistant he supervised and mentored) into relationships as quickly as possible, and then gaslight, manipulate, and control them. It's no surprise he ended up pursuing a young autistic woman after he failed to pull the strings on his exes and they broke free from him.

I know it's been a while since this was posted, @Cato, but I have to express how much I sympathize with your disbelief. Personally I used to conceive of neuroscience (especially the kind of psych-facing neuroscience in which JFP is published) as a field requiring a baseline level of empathy from its practitioners, far more so than the basic types of sciences wherein you can spend years prying animals apart to see how they tick. But the sad thing is, anyone can be detached emotionally from the subject of their study, they can work on it for decades as JFP has, they can get really good at it and publish, earn tenure, etc., and still be a sociopath. It doesn't matter that he's working on topics like the neural and genetic basis of aggression and that you might think, every once in a while he'd stop and evaluate himself along those lines. Nope, he trucks along to his own drumbeat while contributing to the human sciences, and there are thousands like him out there, accomplished and autistic at once.

Talking about capitalising, I still find it interesting how JF wormed himself into all of this.

One thing I'm trying to wrap my head around is his monetary situation. It doesn't seem as though he's had gainful employment since his departure from Duke yet he seems to get by rather comfortably. Usually I would chalk it up family or romantic relations, but there's not much information on that front.

Andy seems like a chill dude, but seems like the kind of person who becomes like the people he surrounds himself with in order to be liked. I used to be more interested in the bloodsports streams but stopped after Andy, Joy Sparkle, and a couple others were high-fiving over pushing Nick Monroe into deleting a piece he wrote about Joy. Monroe's a creep, but making someone censor themselves over something like Joy Sparkle being a batshit narcissist seems counter to free and open discussion, something Andy seems to support. However, as other posters have noted, his desire to be approved of by his peers seems to rule over anything else he might want.

All in all, I feel kinda bad for the guy. JF is going to screw him over and move on as soon as it's convenient for him to stand up for a different ideology than the one driving Internet bloodsports. People will warn him and he's going to completely ignore it because he wants to believe that people are what they say they are. He's already made up his mind about JF's innocence.

It's too bad there isn't a YouTube personality more articulate than that hick Johnny Fox who hates JF enough to successfully dismantle him.

His stupidity has also led him to be easily convinced by the psuedoscience arguments of the "race realists" on his streams, and has even defended their moronic desire for isolated ethnostates and their white victimhood complex. He frequently goes to great lengths to defend the shitty behavior of his friends while simultaneously having the nerve to moralfag other people.

Despite criticizing other people for supposedly "acting like SJWs," he can't take any criticism himself, aggressively bashes pretty much everyone who doesn't suck his dick, and seems to have a sort of superiority complex causing him to think that he is somehow better or more important than his former friends who aren't falling in line with him.

Also don't forget he has a tendency to angrily rush into arguments despite having no real clue of what the person he's angry at's intentions really were. The best examples I can see of this was when he chimped out at Bunty on Tonka's channel and then attacked Sargon during the Anglin debate, going so far as to make public a private conversation.

If I were to go full armchair psychologist, he really seemed betrayed to find out that Jeff Holiday was the lying piece of shit that he is, and decided to make a complete u turn and become friendly with the aut-right.
