and now, I can lurk no longer. I've watched in silence as this place ventured into moralfag white knight territory, all for pristine Christine. If you even come close to sharing an unfavorable opinion of Chris, you're branded as an A-log (side note, I fully expect that response after this comment). All of this starts to go down. It seems like a new saga is brewing. What could have possibly happened? We know he has the trespassing charge to worry about, but this seems...somehow different. Maybe it isn't really a saga and it's something bad. He's acting really odd, even by his standards. Is he in an actual desperate situation right now? Should we be concerned? It's at a point where he's making a big spectacle of selling Cole Smithey's valuable and priceless possessions. I mean...this seems bad. AND, what does it turn out to be in the end? The wholesome and pristine Chris Chan is trying to get money for Broney-Con. I want to say he spat in all your faces in the most autistic manner imaginable. It's more like he pepper sprayed each and every one of you in the face.

I'm very tempted to save that "shut up and buy my toys" pic so I can use it as a response every time I see someone defending Chris. This conclusion is beyond what I expected, even if it's exactly what I should have expected.

lol calm down.

Seriously though, am I missing something? Are his and Barb’s basic living expenses covered already, or is this just him still being impractical?
Yes and no. They could eek by if not for the debts they wrung up, but hoard gotta hoard.

That WOULD be mature... if he was 6 years old. Now it’s just pathetic
This is Chris we are talking about.

don't know if @The American Hedgehog posted this already?

Don't misunderstand me, I'm in a great mood, especially after this revelation. Comedy writers have lost years of sleep trying to craft material that will never come close to this gold. Edit, I wanted to say its impressive that I wasn't automatically censored or banned. Now I have "insufficient privilege" to post in the thread. Lol, how will I ever bounce back.

I got like $250 saved for Retropalooza in Texas, saved since January. I fold up dollars every day to put in my piggy bank. If Chris wants to sell his toys at a convention, that's fine, but he'll get more for his dollar if he waits until the weekend of the convention to sell or trade things.

you usually get more at conventions, but people usually don't buy toys with markers.

Yes, Chris spat in all of our faces for doing something...actually kind of reasonable for money for once. Conventions are expensive things and I'm guessing due to the financial situation of the Chandlers, Chris can't just bankroll this on existing credit as he did in the past, so he's actually putting up stuff he's willing to part with in order for a greater reward.

He wasn't entirely good about it - there still was ulterior motive about selling Cole's shit because he's been trying to be subtle about wanting Cole to take responsibility for their mother's care for years - but we're talking about a mentally exceptional man who is on the record for begging for money in a room full of expensive toys. He's gotten to the point where he is selling those toys. It implies that maybe he's actually started to understand the value of money.

He's still going about it in the most autistic way possible but it's still progress no matter how minimal.

I suspect that him trying to bankroll Bronycon through this manner is a sign that the Chandler finances are too tight compared to last year. Which is saying a lot, frankly.

A poor condition Cybertron Leader Galvatron, missing parts, a lot of tarnish, and signed in his name after it was explicitly pointed out to him that kind of shit is stupid and devalues the toy - Chris got the message when it comes to vintage figures, but nobody wants his signature on toys of ANY kind.

Also Leader Galvatron retailed in 2006 for like, $40 (this was before the great price hikes of 2010).
