Boogie / Boogie2988 / "Francis" / Steven Jason Williams - Fat, Rapidly Declining Divorced "Nice Guy" Middle-Aged Youtuber, Former Edgy Porn Blogger, lied about having cancer and being molested. Cohost of fake drama show "Lolcow Live (LCL)". Just WILL NOT die.

I think PewDiePie might have something to do with it. He got big from loud, fake-persona Let's Play shit, and since then he's made videos where he talked about how he was faking it for the views the whole time and shifted his content away from gaming just because he didn't like being fake. Maybe because he managed to do it with no major drop-off, and he's #1 on the platform, other YouTubers look at him as an example. They may be ignoring the fact that he could lose like 70% of his audience and still be well-paid, but still.

Pewds also adapted his content to something still watchable, rather than gaming stuff he occasionally does that or just makes videos about what takes his fancy + did up a studio to make that work. I don't watch him often but on the occasions I have he's usually amusing enough and isn't taking things super serious like most YT creators do. It helps that the bubble of YT being creator best-buds was burst for him before the new restrictions came in anyway. He's also long stopped caring about appeasing non-viewers so he's more "real" with his fans.

People reinvent themselves all the time. Like try any singer or band with a career that spans decades, it's usually unlikely they will stay with the same style they started with from their first album. Indeed it's usually a good litmus test for the staying power of a musician. As if you can't grow and diversify your sound, people will usually start to get bored and the performer gets bored and fed up too.

Boogie has changed in that now he's a single dude again : P so now rather than crying about his mean ol momma he now whines about being divorced and lonely too. There's a market there as misery loves company, I'm sure most fans are like-minded sad-sacks that blame the past for their present state and believe in being nice all above any attempt at being honest.

What the content creators need to realize, at least the top 10% or so that make a living from Youtube (but aren't pewdiepie level of popular) is that their "brand" isn't strong enough to survive without youtube's recommended algorithm and that like any small business owner you're not just in the business of pleasing your customers (or in this case viewers) but also having a sustainable business model. Hey guess what if rent rises or costs go up otherwise you deal with it as a business owner. There's no free lunch, even when "you're your own boss".

So if the algorithm changes and youtube is your job -- you change with the times or you perish.

As well noted, Boogie's content is stale. He hasn't evolved to the increased competition for views (ironically it's the success of people like boogie, otherwise marginalized and turning to youtube as a career, that hastened it) and he hasn't adapted to the higher stakes when you're committed to youtube as a career and have purchased things like a house on the back of it.

if he can't take the heat he should get the fuck out of the kitchen, but this is boogie we are talking about.

I'm honestly glad that YouTube has mostly found a way to compensate people who make good videos and that really talented creators can make a living on the platform alone, but in a lot of ways that was the worst thing ever to happen to the site. I think it was Metokur who said the day a channel dies is the day they start looking at metrics. I swear 50-75% of these guys become lolcows as soon as they have the chance to quit their day jobs.

Not to mention, Pewdiepie feels more genuine and expresses strong opinions on certain topics in his channel while people like Boogie are fakes that try to take a neutral stance to appease both sides.
Pewdiepie in general just took a huge turn in the way he handled his content. Ever since he ditched the obnoxious kid bait persona and went full Marlon Brando levels of "I've already made it and don't give a fuck" he became one of the most interesting people on the platform. Of course, he had something worth watching underneath the facade, most others (like our friend Booger) probably don't.

Apparently Boogie made an "offensive" tweet, deleted it and then bragged about how BRAVE he is for deleting it.

I'm not* joking anymore, Boogie has to be clinically insane at this point.

Boogie: Someone suicided? That sucks. But did you know the last tweet he liked was MINE? I could probably have saved him. Now i feel sad, MUCH more sad than everyone else btw. You should feel sad for me too.

"You should also like and subscribe to my latest video and visit me on Twitch and follow me there and because I was also suicidal give me money"

Boogie would have probably ate him

Also new video. Boogie opens some gay nerd shit or something I don't fucking know I'm really tired

That thumbnail though. That is the soyboy face if ever I saw it.

His video just now he claims he's at 375lbs. So basically after losing the initial 90lbs in the first four months he's lost about 15 lbs since. He's so fucked. He's slowed down to about a 1lb a week and he's not even under 375 yet.

It's more than mildly annoying how he completely abuses the "pain scale" theory of pain management as well. You are not waking up and in a 7 on the pain scale every day dude. You just are fucking not. At worst you're at like a 4-5, which you take down to a 1-2 with opiates (which he implies that he takes daily for pain).

People with gunshot wounds will often report a pain scale in the 7-8 range after they've been stabilized otherwise. Sit down (should not be a problem for our resident fatass) and be quiet Boogie.

To be fair I think he's describing his own experience, not weighing it against other people's experiences. I'd describe the worst pain I've ever experienced as a 10 on my personal scale, but that would be like a 6 to someone who's been shot. If I got shot then I'd shift everything else down the scale and call that feeling a 10, because it would become the worst pain I've experienced. I think that's what Boogie is doing.

Although actually, if he's in chronic pain every day then surely that's the baseline for him and it would be a 5? It sounds like he's claiming to wake up every day in more pain than the average amount of pain he wakes up in.

I don't know if that makes sense I'm really tired sorry

The pain scale, while subjective, is also usually framed with "real world examples" of what people frequently report. So a nurse will ask what's your pain level and she (or he or they) will give an example. For example a gun shot wound is frequently reported as a 7-8, a minor cut from cooking or working is like a 2-3, a broken bone is like a 5-6 and something like a kidney stone or loss of limb after shock wears off would be 10/10.

That this fat fuck thinks he's in constant 7 pain is just ludicrous and shows what a huge pus (literally, lymphoma) filled whimp he is. It's offensive to people that are in real chronic pain from non self-induced injuries like veterans, cancer patients, and so on.
