New video
Alex brings up a point at the beginning that characters' view of you and your reputation matters unlike other games. But it's couldn't have been implemented worse.
They're all walking stereotypes. Especially those goddamn delinquents. Nothing screams delinquent like conforming to the standards of being a delinquent in Japan, with dyed hair and a little twist on the school uniform. Why should someone who lives in an alternative universe where YanSim is out give a shit about those guys or what they think? Why should I waste time and go out of my way to appeal to any of them? Because the game will get harder if I don't, you say? Well, guess I just won't buy it then.
I know this rant is completely meaningless since the game will never come out, but I just wanted to talk about how dumb the idea of making the player do hard things cuz the game would be hard without them. It never worked and YanDev definitely will not make it work.
TL;DR Making the player do dumb things because the game would be a chore if they didn't is :autism:

Casual reminder that Dishonored scales difficulty and determines its ending based on how much people you killed so reputation isn’t even an original feature for YS.
I guess Alex’s variety in vidya is pretty shallow.

Hiya, new kiwifarmer, i've been lurking on this thread for awhile. I have access to Alex's twitch subscriber channel and it's really bad.

Just saw the delinquent video and goddamn. Here's just some of my notes on the video

+The one with the black shirt has a scar eerily similar to Shiro from Voltron. Since it's Alex I think it might have been intentional
+I'm actually glad he scrapped the old delinquents. That's one positive thing from this.
+Still don't understand why he won't accept this as a meme game. He can get away with the delinquents if he didn't take the game so seriously.
+The battle 'mini-game' looks so bad. So, so bad.
+The opened jackets is a decent idea
+There needs to be more pros to being a delinquent. Even if it's just the pro if being able to eliminate the delinquent rival. Just give us one good reason to join.

Also, he's really pushing that Fun Girl lore, isn't he?

Ooooo that would be hilarious but would that just be a Special Ed school then?
Alex's students are insane and unrealistic, it's full of delinquents, smart-phones, and short-skirted young-women, and yet the teachers and higher-ups from the school don't do anything about it, along with a bunch of other lore/backstory BS that doesn't make sense. And yet, Alex prides himself on telling others that they should take his game seriously. If a Kiwi Simulator were to ever come to fruition, everyone there would be an exceptional cow, and I think it should be treated as more of a comedy game (aka, not to be taken seriously) than that of what Alex is trying to propose with his game.

sorry for this useless post, i will delete it later
@Better-Trash-Than-Eva start to edit your posts, you always double post, i always see you making double post, edit or take your time to gather your thoughts
Sorry about that.

The tropes are less of an issue than is the individuality and realistic-ness of it. He looks at the world in individual sections and doesn’t look at it as a whole, which is the main reason why it’s broken and doesn’t make sense. If something is going to behave one way, then how would another thing react to it. How would the SC react to seeing Bullies, how would Delinquents react to mindslaves, etc etc.

:offtopic: Forgive me if it's been mentioned before, but Alex has played at least one Dishonored game (Death of the Outsider) so I find it highly unlikely that he doesn't know.

I'm sure this surprises very few - if any - of you. :offtopic:

3 hits doesn't really take anybody down in a minigame QUICKTIME EVENT when it comes to fighting someone.
i fixed your comment, your welcome
the more i think, the more i believe Alex it's like a mastermind manipulator

Edit for more Context: he made believe the whole world that quicktime events are a minigames, that's some dam good manipulator skills

*sigh* i know i'm little late but i'll try to dissect the new video

>What you do in metal gear and hitman has no effect on the next mission

I know it might sound like a nitpick but he picked two awfully wrong examples. Even then it's not exactly true, Metal Gear V enemies actually evolve depending on how you play and Hitman Blood money has a notoriety system that charges the more you get spotted/kill and carries through mission, which Alex copied into the school reputation system.

>"There is no benefit in keeping non dead so it's simply not an option"

"Why give the player a non lethal option if he can get more by killing?" Because it's a fucking stealth game, you don't design it with this retarded logic. If there is no benefit then you make one or at least don't make murder the ONLY solution. Many fans already suggested bribing and threatning to deal with witnesses, it's not impossible.

>"If you beat up a delinquent they will respect you"

Alex has some messed up fantasies about how school works. If you beat up a violent school bully he is not going to respect you, he will come back tomorrow with +3 friends and a gun to fucking kill you. And the game is also AGAIN, rewarding you for violence.

>"If they spot you doing something bad your reputation will not be affected"

Alex that's not "hating the rules", that having no common sense of danger. If i saw a girl covered in blood i would freak the fuck out.

>minigame

It's just the self defense QTE but much easier since it's just 3 buttons. How lazy.

>Ayano tanking 10 crowbar hits to the face

How the hell can a teach expel me for carrying weapons while these dudes are carrying crowbars, pipes and swords and hitting girls with it???

>"if a delinquent sees you murder, they will attack you forever until you kill them"

Alex finally creates a student group who will not snitch you for murder, therefore you're allowed to deal with them non lethally except YOU CANT BECAUSE FUCK YOU MURDER IS THE ONLY SOLUTION! WHAT WAS THE POINT THEN AAAAA

>steal their weapons and frame them for murder

Oh shit framing is completely easy now good to know, i'm glad they're stupid enough to let their weapons there.

>They will not socialize

Oh so Alex couldn't bother give them functional dialogue? Ok then.

>You have to beatem up to use the incinerator

How bothersome, now we need to press 15 buttons to use the incinerator. Such deep gameplay wow

>Backstory explaining why the delinquents are tolerated

It will never make sense and will come off as a forced excuse. You can't sell the school as prestigious and Megami as strict with armed guys walking around, that's something you'll never be able to justify.

>Yanderechan will join the delinquents

Remember when this game was about being a Yandere? They're basically another club. 5 members and one leader.

tl;dr: 5 guys hitting a school girl with crowbars and metal pipes is stupid. Alex finally creates a way a group of students who can be dealt non lethally but if they will only stop attacking if you murder them so murder is still the only (and easiest) solution.

Alex does not know how to design a stealth game. Or any game for that matter.

I kind of want the KF version of the game to be a real thing now. The school could be in New Zealand, home to the Kiwis.

Edit: Got bored waiting at work so I drew up what should be the Kiwi Simulators own Ayano
Now that seems like something interesting to kill time.
I'm learning to model in Blender, and the tutorial I use needs a reference, so I'm asking if I can use this image as a reference.

As I said before, I'm all in for our own version of YandereSim(or Whatever-dereSim).
It would be heartwarming to see everyone work together to make something like this.
