Why do they always use such eye-searingly bad colors? It's not that hard to learn how to use color theory for christ's sake. Also that second image leans more towards 12 year old's anime phase than Tumblr's brand of Bootlegged Steven Universe, hell I'll even say the person knows how to pick colors more than the first.

It's kind of funny to see fetish art lumped in with SJW art because y'know, at the end of the day they've become almost indistinguishable.

I was exploring "meet the artist" tags on Tumblr a while back when I found these goodies. I was pleasantly surprised to find them again on my phone today.
With a name like "Skelacorn" I don't know what I was expecting. I do like how he didn't even bother to draw fingers on the hands. You could say it's part of his "style", but I think it's just laziness. Always a nice trait to apply to your art.
I just like how they hated a Danganronpa character enough to put it on "their" dislikes list.
Of course she likes Steven Universe.
I'm noticing a trend with these "meet the artist" things. Everyone who does them feels the need to point out how gay they are. What happened to personalities? Do those not exist anymore? Or does that get erased as soon as you join Tumblr...?
This one is really inoffensive. The art is fine, although her character does seem to be uncomfortably leaning forward.
Really I just found it funny how she had both Onision and Suicide Squad in her dislikes. That should really go without saying at this point.

The first three aren't the worst honestly. Just take away the Vitilego and your fine. Real people can have freckles/birthmarks/moles to make up for spots. Why does every character with a minor skin condition= Vitilego? And honestly for the Gorilla character I do think it's smart they used a hijab. It's a decent way of interpreting the character and I don't think it's bad just because a "character in a hijab". It's cute and works fine. Plus you can clearly see the artist knows how to fucking color.
That bonus comment is all sorts of hell though. Dictating a person's race JUST because they came from a certain country? Isn't that kind of...racist? Does OP not realize that other than these characters being animals, that Japanese people have made other different types of races as characters? Just because a character is made by a Japanese person doesn't give some random nobody the authority to tell others what or who to depict. That's being an asshole and that's not limited to any race.
When are these people going to learn that the more you call someone out the more attention you give them? Hell that infamous white black panther picture that circulated Tumblr got almost 1000 notes alone. The less you give people's art that you don't like attention, the better it is for your mental health.
I can get not deforming someone's work to fit your own ideals, but come on. Just ignore it if you hate people not following your rules so goddamn much.

I always thought that Sanrio characters kind of transcended the the boundaries of race and culture. Think of how universal Hello Kitty is.
Why people are rushing to inject racial politics into a Sanrio cartoon about a panda in a heavy metal band is beyond me.

I wanna say that vitilego became a trendy in character re/designs between a black model with vitilego was popular with Tumblr for a while, and because before it became a trend there were a handful of actually good artists who would include the condition on humanzied designs of non-human characters who had patch pattern skin or other markings, and later artists went on to slap it on fucking everything.
Probably never. In their minds, the age-old advice "don't feed the trolls" is rooted in white male privilege or whatever bullshit and not throwing a tantrum at everything they don't like means that you're quietly condoning it and creates "racist" memes like Pepe and Knuckles - not that their hissy fits create the issue by encouraging people to spread the memes just to laugh at how mad it makes them.

I honestly didn't think it was possible for there to be a worse looking Starfire than the CW version.
Where do I even start with this thing? Her skin is a blotchy mess, her makeup makes her look like a clown, and her hair... what the fuck kind of hair is that? Did she bandage some of her hair up, or does she have a weird antenna now?
Other than that, Robin looks OK, but the others look pretty shitty and the color scheme sucks donkey ass.

The only good thing about this really is that the anatomy is okay. Everything else just drags the picture down so much. I really wish this person would stay off Tumblr it's clearly fucking up their art. I can see potential here and it's being completely squandered. Do these guys have a checklist of shitty drawing choices to make?
