Funny the best Vietnamese Deli (entirely run and owned by Vietnamese immigrants) in my town bakes the most delicious French bread to use with their sandwiches. It’s so damn good they started a side business just selling their fresh bread.

The Vietnamese learned to bake delicious bread from French colonialists. So are these Vietnamese business owners appropriating French culture or are they racist for choosing to bake French bread?

Unfortunately they have internalized the racist belief that French bread is superior to Vietnamese noodles after being subjected to decades of brutal colonization. They have no agency aren't capable of thinking a food is delicious and incorporating it into their own culture.
