I don't know if it was the hate. Kenny knew about DSP since at least 2016.

I think he just responded to DSP tweet in a very vague way. " I'm down ". Later he pretty much disregarded the whole idea.

Honestly, I'd rather wave a little Phil flag on this one.

Phil's a dipshit, but LTG is an utter fucking thug that people look up to thinking he's a badass. He's just a thug. Other players know he's a loudmouth thug. To this day I have no idea if he was joking when he said he takes steroids, it's the kind of thing that any mentally sound person would nonchalantly say as an obvious joke over how buff they are, but LTG is completely unhinged and unreasonable. That's the kind of shit that actually happens to your mood when you use steroids, so it's even less funny.

Sadly Phil will still lose.

Possibly. Phil uses a top tier character in Ken, while I believe LTG mains Remy who is a lower tiered character. Phil uses Hugo as well but he sucks so bad win him. LTG has some skill in 3rd strike to keep him alfloat and should win easily.

Phil is pretty predictable on ST. If they play a few sets, LTG should learn his patterns and beat him in that as well.

Does character tiers really matter much when we're talking about players at the level of these two cows?

I get that on the very top, even small imbalances in power can lead to big differences. But for randoms? Or in this case two has-beens / almost-were's like DSP and LTG?

Why the fuck does Phil use the word "reactionary" as though its a good thing? He does understand the word is heavily associated with conservatism right? Not saying conservatism is bad just saying the word is generally associated with concepts like "ship mexicans back to mexico!" and other shit like that which the media loves shitting all over. Phil is such an exceptional individual, he hears a big word and starts throwing it around without understanding any of the context it's used in so before you know it you have "I make reactionary gameplay videos" and "street fighter should be all about reactionary gameplay".

I'm glad you've said this. It triggers me something fierce but I never focus on it amidst the sea of DSPisms that come out every time he opens his mouth. Actually Phil is plenty reactionary because he chimps out over slight provocations. Just now in his chat he raged at one guy from his chat who dared to challenged him on his assertion that the port of Super Turbo is too fast. You don't know what you're talking about when it comes to emulation, Phil says, unlike Phil "Emperor of Emulation" Burnell.

The reason why Remy is bottom tier is because of the parry and that a lot of the upper tiers that are good at offense (Makoto, Chun Li, Ken, and Yun) can just overwhelm him.

But a good Remy can defend well and play patiently. And that's the kind of opponeny that Phil struggles with the most. That and Phil can't parry for shit.

I say LTG has this won.
