Diseased TV Tropes community

TV Tropes has gotten worse lately. I read their page on "The New Tens", which is about the current 2010's decade and it was awful.

It used to be that the Wiki was a fun little distraction to pass the time, even if it could get a little autistic at times. As long as you stayed away from the forums, you were fine.

Now the forums are even worse and the Wiki is just a cesspool of SJW sperging and general fandom cringe.

Identity Politics are a hell of a drug.

DUDE THE BLUTHS ARE TOTALLY LIKE THE TRUMP FAMILY LMAO

The Bluths are funnier. Or at least the jokes in AD are funnier than "comedians" with broken minds screaming helplessly at the sky.

You can practically tell instantly when you're in the virgin old growth forest part of TVT and the new screeching SJW invasive weed part.

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/UsefulNotes/AspergerSyndrome unsurprisingly their page on Asperger syndrome is long very long.Funny thing its about as long as their useful notes page on alcohol abuse.Maybe a connection??
There was this one section that made me laugh. The second half of the page talks about myths associated with Asperger's, and there was this one part:

No Sense Of Humour.
  • This one's definitely wrong; while an odd or dark sense of humour is common, plenty of people with Asperger's aren't afraid to make jokes about themselves. This one most likely came about because people with Asperger's may simply not get a joke, especially situational ones, and thus not laugh. As noted, many Aspies have an unusually strong sense of compassion for others, and thus may find humor based on random cruelty or characters' gratuitous suffering upsetting rather than amusing. Also, while some Aspies may have difficulties understanding sarcasm, and find irony an even tougher beast, others will not only understand sarcasm and/or irony, but range from occasional Deadpan Snarker to The Snark Knight. It very much depends on the person. Often the sense of humour is very dry, or depends on peculiar word-play only understood by the individual—see the Wikipedia article on Duclod Man for some good examples

Seems to me that the writer doesn't grasp the irony that complaining about certain types of humor and misconceptions about humor and Aspies makes it look like they themselves have no sense of humor. I especially like "plenty of people with Asperger's aren't afraid to make jokes about themselves" because the author doesn't realize the way they write makes it look like they can't joke about themselves.

Does anyone know what's so offensive about the Bloodhoung gang that Tvtropes considers its values are no longer acceptable today? https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/YMMV/BloodhoundGang
What the hell does "douchebag shock humor of the 90s" even mean? Shock humor's been around for a long time. Mel Brooks was making shock humor movies as early as the 60s.

Oh wait, that's when shows like Ren and Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life came out. I forget, tropers' entertainment history is limited to children's cartoons.

I thought the 90's was the birth of the PC movement.

It probably means that at one point in the cartoon, someone yells at somebody else and that sends the troper into a chimp out about them being UNLIKABLE.

Judging by the fact the troper zoomed in on "Yellow Fever" in particular it sounds like this person got assmad that they made a song about a protected species. I mean if you're going to industrially sandblast your vagina over stupid shit, you should at least go to something that actually is completely intended to offend. Like this little number...

To be fair, the Bluths are at least somewhat inspired by the Bushes (Gob [George Oscar Bluth] = Jeb [John Ellis Bush], etc.), so while seeing a Trump family connection is completely unfounded it also isn't completely unthinkable-- both the Bushes and the Trumps being Republican presidential families unpopular to many people, after all.
