The guy wasn't specific enough. It's not poor people that are obsolete in Bob's eyes, it's poor white and presumably black working class people. You know, the people whose livelihoods have been affected most by outsourcing and illegal immigrant labor. It's okay for brown people from South of the border to come in and pick your fruit and mow your lawn for 1/3 of minimum wage because in the mind of people like Bob, that's how much of a person they are.
