My brother had mentioned a couple of times that about like less than half of his mates (including himself) at basic training were Trump supporters, the other half were either Hill-dogs or didn't like any of the candidates. Political talk in the bunkers got heated very quickly (think it got physical at one point, if I'm remembering right?), and that was all from just roughly this time last year. If he hadn't gotten medically discharged shortly after graduating basic training, he might've gotten more stories/experiences.

People in the military tend to lean more right from what I can tell, though at the end of the day it doesn't matter if the military likes the guy in charge or not, they can't disobey orders from the Commander in Chief without repercussions.

Without getting too deep into the government pay system:
Working for the government - directly for, not contracting - gives you a for-sure paycheck twice monthly. You will only be fired for gross incompetence that can't be swept under the rug*. That paycheck will always go up, just for years-in-service. What this means is you walk into a bank, and the loan manager will jizz their pants, and give you that low downpayment, long term home loan.

And you'll take it, especially if you're in the FBI, because while the salary sort of blows, you're elegible for retirement after 20 years, and you get a government pension when you retire, on top of social security kicking in at 65. So the money just keeps coming in nice and steady.

What this means is the usual government employee is leveraged to the hilt. Strzok's pretty well fucked, since I believe this deprives him of his pension.



*See, no one wants anyone to be fired. Because that means the people who did the hiring didn't hire right, it means your supervisor messed up because it took them so long to discover your incompetence.... its better for everyone to just shove you into some shithole where you'll hate life and go find another job.

They don't give a shit about our military (and civilians caught in the middle) sustaining heavy casualties, the sheer destruction that would be wrought upon the landscapes, the political ramifications that would last for years afterward (governments toppling, refugees trying to flee the destruction, etc.), or the threat of it all ending in a nuclear war, they just want revenge for Russia making the DNC look bad.

The issue is not defeating the Russian Military. The Russian military has a long history of getting their shit utterly pushed in. The problem is what happens AFTER you beat Russia. Which is the Russian government, using strong-arm tactics and general deception, BARELY controls the Russian population and the people aren't fully hostile to power structure. There is no way you take over Russia without it bleeding you dry.
